When we first met, I wasn't sure what to make of him… but now, I think I can trust him.
"...No, it's okay now," Rafayel said softly. "I'm sorry too, for getting upset."
"No, no, Rafayel, you weren't in the wrong. I was the one being thoughtless," Khazan insisted once more.
Finally, Rafayel smiled wryly and said, "Alright, alright. I'm not upset anymore, so let's just drop the topic, okay?"
After sharing a small meal at a nearby restaurant, they returned to the guild.
"Hey! Did you get the stuff I asked for?" Khazan called out.
Someone replied, "Yeah, gathered it all up," and handed over a thick bundle of papers.
"Here, your payment," Khazan said as he passed over a pouch of money.
Rafayel silently watched the exchange, confused about what exactly was going on.
Once they were inside a private room at the back, Khazan dropped the bundle of papers with a heavy thud right in front of Rafayel.
"Take a look at this."
