Sitting in a luxuriously decorated room the group sat in their respective seats. The clear display Anubis showed with this simple demonstration is to display his economic might.
At the side of the room, a massive waterfall of golden liquid. In the pool at its base were small yet ancient fishes. Though the fishes seemed harmless in reality they were extremely deadly.
They were Dandan, a bread of demonic fish that could swallow ships whole if given the chance. Though they seem miniature as though they were in their indolence they were already fully grown.
The sole reason why they appeared the way they did was due to one reason and one reason only, Anubis. In the far past when Anubis was a rising nova in power a few gods tried to tempt him to their sides.
One such god was Uranus the primordial god of the sky. As one of his minor divinities was in space he created this wonderous artefact for Anubis.
He used his divinity to 'shrink' everything in the pool down. For reference, a 'cute' little fish was in actually around four to five kilometres long.
Although they were small, these 'cute' little fishes were always giving off a dangerous aura. Typically common gods felt their blood run cold in the presence of his pets.
Like an influential merchant, he displayed the level of his vast wealth with how the room was decorated. To the ordinary, this room symbolized and showcased the vast amount of power Anubis had at his finger tips.
But to someone like Thanatos and Marco, this display was meaningless. They themselves were extremely dangerous beings, Anubis knew of how powerful Thanatos was.
If he knew that the ever-powerful Thanatos, one that many gods fear was lacking in power in comparison to Marco he would regret showing his pets.
Looking unimpressed Marco began the conversation, "So how do we begin the procedure?" Before taking a sip of his tea.
Seeing his friends' guest having such a nonchalant attitude Anubis felt something. It was a feeling that he had not felt in a long time, annoyance.
Anubis the god of death was revered, powerful and influential, knowing all this he was sour that this simple looking man had ignored his presence and treated him as though he was a simple merchant selling a commodity.
As Marco was looking at Anubis carefreely the opposite was true. The god was now glaring coldly at Marco, and though he wanted to teach his 'rude' guest a lesson he still had to keep his image as a neutral god.
Swallowing his annoyance he countered elegantly, "Oh? And why may I enquire do you need such a service?"
A small smile adorning his countenance, he was observing Marco. He wanted to find out the man's true intention. After a second passed, he decided to prompt the silent Marco again.
"How exactly do you want to use my scales? I assume that you have a powerful enemy that you want to interrogate since you have enlisted the aid of Thanatos to help you receive my help. Am I wrong?"
Anubis still wore the same expression, but soon that expression was replaced with a confused look when hearing Marco's simple yet decisive reply.
"Yes, I came not for the purpose you have just stated." Marco replied causally then continued "Thanatos can explain in my stead."
Knowing this was coming Thanatos naturally continued after eating some grapes. "You see the purpose of us coming here was to weigh if Marco here's heart contains the will to destroy the world."
He looked into the shocked eyes of Anubis and continued, "Honestly if he used all his power even the both of us wouldn't be able to handle his power."
In a deathly serious tone he continue while looking seriously at Anubis.
"Just for your reference my old friend, Marco here has enough raw power to make a god-king shrink in fear. But the issue is his control, so for me to train him I want to make sure of his intentions before giving a tiger wings."
