Chapter 147 - Helping Hands - Chapter 3

Jarrett and Nolan looked around to see the flying orb that followed them through the first floor was nowhere in sight. As they'd been told that there would be one for every group. This added another layer of pressure as they knew this would mean no one could have possibly seen what happened to the two previously. Beads of sweat dropped from Jarrett and Nolan's head, not realizing such a small detail had gone over their heads during everything.

"Ah…shit."

"Crap…this isn't good, Azuri is right…"

"Exactly. Nolan, you remember the route we took to get here, you should be able to get through if you two use the speed spell from before. I'll be moving through the dungeon, it shouldn't be hard to find another group since I know the layout of this place."

She looked around once more, seeing all of the possible routes she could take to find any other groups that could be close.

"I have to pick the best route, how fast I do this can determine a ton of factors…but I hope those two can hold out for some time…" she thought to herself before selecting which way to go. The two others adjusted themselves as they looked at Azuri with disappointment in their faces.

"Don't worry you two, I'm sure you were able to put a good display on for the watchers and higher-ups. Once you get back–"

"Just promise, you'll bring them back."

"..."

"Please."

Jarrett's hands were trembling as he knew that no matter what, this was the best course of action. Not only for them, but for the two who were stuck in the chasm below. Azuri placed her hands on his fist, holding it firmly. He looked up to see her bright pink eyes look at him full of determination. He couldn't help but feel reassured slightly, she'd been reliable ever since the start, but seeing her stay calm in such a time was the thing that settled his mind in the matter.

"No wonder you're a three star. C'mon Nolan, let's go tell the professors. Don't get yourself killed here in this dungeon, Azuri."

"I swear it."

"Good. We're off then."

Jarrett lifted his wand and activated the same spell as the start of the event. Casting the words quickly as wind magic began to surround the two. They gave Azuri one last look before rushing off in the direction they entered from. Retracing their steps to reach the entrance to the dungeon once again.

Azuri watched the back of their cloaks disappear in the distance as she turned back to the now empty floor. Considering many things in the process.
