All he could do was wait. With these thoughts lingering in his mind, Jiang Chen stepped outside. But just as he reached the doorstep, something caught his attention.

His gaze instinctively lifted to the sky.

And at that very moment—

"Boom!"

"Rumble!"

A thunderous roar echoed across the city, followed by violent tremors that shook the entire DaXia (Great Xia) capital.

"What's going on?"

"What happened?"

Jiang Huaqing and Yang Lihua rushed out with tense expressions on their faces. When they saw Jiang Chen, a wave of relief washed over them.

"Xiao Chen!" Jiang Huaqing called out anxiously.

"It shouldn't be anything too serious," Jiang Chen replied, though he could already sense a powerful aura erupting from the distance. "Mom, Dad, stay home. I'll go check it out!"

With that, his figure shot into the sky.

"Xiao Chen!" Yang Lihua's voice trembled as she reached out, but Jiang Huaqing gently held her back.

At the same time, Jiang Xi swiftly flew over.

"Brother!" Jiang Xi called, her worry evident.

"Let's check it out together!" Jiang Chen said firmly.

"Alright!" Jiang Xi nodded, following closely as the two flew toward the source of the commotion.

They weren't the only ones. Countless figures took to the air, all heading in the same direction.

After about ten minutes, Jiang Chen and Jiang Xi came to a halt. The others around them also stopped, their eyes fixed on the unsettling sight ahead.

Several kilometers away, a thick white mist had enveloped the landscape, completely obscuring the surroundings. The mist churned ominously and began to spread even further, its eerie presence sending a chill through the air.

It was because of the thick white mist that the entire DaXia (Great Xia) capital trembled violently.

"What is this?" Jiang Chen murmured to himself.

"Dimension Invasion," Jiang Xi replied, her voice tinged with unease.

At this moment, it wasn't just Jiang Chen and Jiang Xi who were shocked. The surrounding figures also erupted with exclamations of surprise. Clearly, the sight of the mist had brought the same realization to them.

This was a Dimension invasion.

Only a Dimension invasion could produce such a dense, ominous mist. Dimension Descent, on the other hand, would never create a scene like this, nor would it spread across the entire DaXia capital.

The realization caused many faces to pale. Some people instinctively took a step back, while others quickly disappeared, unwilling to take any chances. No one could predict the strength or scale of a Dimension invasion. If it were of a high level, those nearby would be the first to face its wrath.

However, while some retreated, others' eyes gleamed with anticipation, eager to seize the opportunity. For many Extraordinary beings, a Dimension invasion was both a crisis and a chance.

If they succeeded in overcoming the challenge, their strength could advance further. For those determined to grow stronger, even the risk of death wasn't enough to deter them.

Just as they were preparing to act—

"Buzz!"

A ripple spread out, shaking the atmosphere.

In the next moment—

"Boom!"

"Boom!"

"Boom!"

"Boom!"

Four beams of light shot up from around the DaXia capital, unleashing a terrifying aura that engulfed the area.

"What is this?" someone gasped in shock.

"Xuanwu, Chongwen, Chaoyang, Haidian!"

"What's happening?"

"They actually activated A-rank energy defense!"

"Oh my god!"

The sight left many trembling. Even Jiang Chen and Jiang Xi couldn't tear their eyes away from the four radiant beams piercing the sky.

"This isn't good!" Jiang Xi said urgently. "Brother, this is A-rank energy defense. Something big is about to happen."

"A-rank?" Jiang Chen echoed, his heart pounding.

Memories and information surged into his mind. The DaXia Federation had established energy defenses in every Base City as a precaution against Dimension invasions. These defenses could prevent the spread of the invasion and shield the city from its devastating impact.

Energy defenses were generally classified into four levels: A, B, C, and D, with an additional S-rank level. Normally, third-tier Base Cities had D-level defenses, while second-tier Base Cities typically had B or C-level defenses. First-tier Base Cities, on the other hand, boasted A-level defenses.

The situation now was unusual. The four second-tier Base Cities surrounding DaXia's capital had combined their efforts to deploy an A-rank energy defense. Though it was rare, such collaboration could enable them to achieve this level of protection.

But the surprises didn't end there.

Just as the beams from Xuanwu, Chongwen, Chaoyang, and Haidian stabilized, a fifth energy beam burst forth from the heart of DaXia capital.

The beams connected in an instant, forming a massive barrier that enclosed not only the capital but also the four second-tier Base Cities. The thick white mist was sealed outside, unable to spread any further.

Jiang Chen's eyes flickered with astonishment.

The connection of the five beams meant only one thing — the capital had activated an S-rank energy defense.

"S-S-rank!"

"Gulp!"

"Are you kidding me?"

"How is that possible?"

Disbelief echoed through the air. After all, S-rank defenses were legendary.

The entire DaXia capital, and indeed the whole DaXia Federation, hadn't witnessed the activation of S-rank defenses for many years.

Five beams of radiant energy surged into the heavens, sealing the world in a brilliant cage of light. The four great Tier-2 Base Cities, along with the Main Urban Area, were entirely engulfed. At that moment, countless people tilted their heads skyward, their faces a mix of awe and fear.

For decades, the Great Xia government had not unleashed its S-class defensive formation— until now.

Something monumental was unfolding.

Meanwhile.

Great Xia Capital.

Dimensional Nexus.

"Alert!"

"Alert!"

"Detecting unidentified energy surge."

"Attempting energy assessment."

"Assessment failed— energy levels immeasurable."

Urgent warnings echoed through the vast command hall as shadows darted across the polished stone floor. Magical sigils flickered above observation platforms, trembling under the strain of the surging power.

"Whoosh!"

An elderly figure materialized in a flash of light.

"Report!"

His sharp gaze locked onto a middle-aged man clad in ceremonial battle robes.

"Sir, we're unable to determine the exact source, but the energy signatures are far beyond Sixth Tier Peak levels, it's unlike anything we've encountered."

The middle-aged man's voice was low, his face tense.

The elder's brows furrowed.

"Mobilize the Xuanwu Guard, Zhuque Guard, Baihu Guard, and Qinglong Guard immediately."

"Further, declare a Level 1 combat alert for the Great Xia Capital. Summon all Extraordinary individuals of Fourth Tier or above without exception. No clan, sect, or faction is permitted to defy this order."

His words resonated like thunder.

"Understood!" The middle-aged man bowed swiftly.

But just as he turned to leave, the elder's voice halted him.

"And that other realm? Has the old monster emerged?"

The man hesitated.

"Not yet."

"Still nothing?"

The elder's frown deepened. With a wave of his hand, the subordinate swiftly departed.

Soon, the entire Great Xia Capital and the surrounding Xuanwu, Chongwen, Chaoyang, and Haidian Tier-2 Base Cities roared to life. Arcane barriers surged into place as combat legions assembled with unwavering resolve.
