Chapter 378 - Chapter 379: The Right to Be Arrogant

Hela spared Thor—only because of Emperor.

Alan and Wanda exchanged helpless glances. Here they go again—two gods _bickering_.

"I heard that the first time you led an army to attack the Frost Giants, you nearly got your own comrades killed..."

Hela sneered at Thor, showing no mercy—even in front of Emperor.

How could a reckless fool like _him_ be considered a candidate for the throne?

"I really don't understand how someone like you is even _worthy_ of being called the God of Thunder. Try not to disgrace the title of a god."

Hela had always been extremely confident in her own abilities.

Alan understood why.

Especially now, with her power _fully restored_ in Asgard, she didn't even need the Time Stone to travel freely through the universe.

In other words—

Hela _had_ the strength to be arrogant.

And the _right_ to be.

Wanda noticed Thor lower his head slightly, as if recalling past mistakes. He looked a little ashamed but didn't argue back.

"Alright, that's enough. Time to end this little squabble." Alan sighed.

Seriously? They still had the _energy_ to argue on the _moon_?

Angela was left alone in Asgard. If Thanos really attacked, could she _hold the line_?

"You two need to go back and prepare the defenses. If Thanos _does_ lead the Chitauri in an invasion..."

Alan fixed Hela with a serious gaze.

He couldn't leave Earth just yet. He wouldn't be going to Asgard with her.

"Make sure to notify me. I'll come to help hold the line. Also, inform the other planets—tell them to be prepared _early_."

Seeing how serious Alan was, Hela didn't continue targeting Thor.

After all, they still had to fight _side by side_.

Even if her brother was a _brawny fool_, he still had _some_ use.

"Thanos is _really_ going to attack Asgard? What about Earth? What happens to _Earth_?"

Thor quickly put aside his concerns about Odin.

No matter how many times he asked, Hela _wasn't_ going to tell him.

So he chose to stop asking.

Odin's health was failing. Rather than forcing him to fight an enemy, it was better for him to _hide_ somewhere and recover.

Maybe one day, Odin would find his own way back.

And based on Hela's words, Thor knew that as long as Odin wasn't _dead_, that was enough.

"Hmm... maybe," Hela said with a dismissive expression.

"After all, I _did_ beat him up."

Her face twisted—not at Thor, but at the thought of _Thanos_.

"Regretting it?" Alan raised an eyebrow.

He _doubted_ Hela even knew the meaning of the word _regret_.

"I _do_ regret it." Hela sighed.

"I regret not using my sword to _shave off_ a part of his _weird-looking_ chin."

Just _thinking_ about Thanos' face made her shudder.

After another round of persuasion from Alan, the two siblings finally _reluctantly_ shook hands and called a truce.

Still uneasy, Alan decided to _personally_ see them off.

And take a look at Asgard's situation himself.

The golden light of the Bifrost was as dazzling as ever.

Its grand architecture stood in stark contrast to Earth's buildings.

Wanda admired the structures—

One look, and it was clear—this was a place straight out of _mythology_.

Though to Earth, Asgard _was_ considered a mythical land.

"Hela!"

A furious voice rang out as Angela stormed forward.

"Where the _hell_ have you been?! I thought you saw Alan and got so weak in the knees that you _refused_ to leave Earth again!"
