Ding.
The elevator doors slowly opened, and Kaminari stepped out, accompanied by four cute girls and three adorable Pokémon.
From an outsider's perspective, it was a scene worth envying. Even though Kaminari and Kyoka preferred spending time alone, hanging out with friends—especially in such a lively atmosphere—wasn't bad either.
"This is amazing!" Uraraka's cheeks flushed as she beamed with joy, her eyes narrowing into delighted slits.
"Big thanks to Kaminari's dad for this. Otherwise, we'd have had to wait another three months for the official release," Asui added with a smile.
Meanwhile, Kyoka followed Kaminari out of the tower, glancing up at Noibat, which was perched atop her head. Her eyes were filled with happiness.
"The Pokémon everyone chose are pretty interesting! Asui picked Poliwag, and Uraraka chose Clefairy!" Momo said with a soft smile, casting a glance at Vulpix, which was walking beside her.
She truly felt that the Pokémon Kaminari had helped create brought an incredible amount of joy to everyone. Her admiration for him only grew as she looked at his back.
"Seriously, why didn't anyone pick one of the original three starters? Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur are all adorable too!" Kaminari overheard the girls' conversation and turned around, voicing his complaint.
But as he turned, his gaze met Momo's for a brief moment. They locked eyes, but without much thought or hesitation, both quickly looked elsewhere.
"I chose Poliwag because I'm a frog," Asui replied matter-of-factly.
"But Poliwag isn't a frog… Poliwhirl is," Kyoka pointed out, tilting her head in confusion.
Asui responded naturally, "Yeah, but Poliwag is cuter!"
"I picked Clefairy because it's cute too, and its personality is kinda like mine," Uraraka added with an embarrassed smile.
"But the most surprising choice was Kaminari's. He actually reserved Raikou!"
"That's a legendary Pokémon!" Momo sighed as she looked at Kaminari in amazement.
"Yeah, and I heard that these legendary Pokémon are unique—unlike the others, which can be mass-produced," Asui nodded.
"Cough, I really didn't expect my dad to be so over-the-top…"
Kaminari couldn't help but chuckle helplessly when he recalled his father's reasoning. He still remembered his words clearly:
"Since our whole family has Electric-type Quirks, we obviously need the strongest and best Electric-type Pokémon!"
"Not only Raikou, Uncle also wanted to order Zapdos as a gift for your mom," Kyoka added.
"But Aunt said she actually prefers Luxray."
"And what did Uncle say in the end? 'Only children make choices, I'm getting both Zapdos and Luxray!'" Momo said with a laugh.
Truthfully, Kaminari fully supported his father's decision. He understood the real reason behind acquiring these Pokémon.
Both Zapdos and Raikou would undoubtedly be built with high combat capabilities.
Although their safety was already in the hands of professional heroes from Midnight's agency, personal security detail in the form of Pokémon was still a great idea.
Because of this, the battle strength of those two legendary Pokémon would likely far surpass that of his Pikachu, since they served different purposes.
Pikachu was a support tool—a battle suit designed to assist him rather than fight in his place. Its combat ability wasn't prioritized.
Meanwhile, Zapdos and Raikou were meant to protect his father and mother.
Luxray was just a companion pet, like Pikachu, meant to stay at home and keep his mother company.
It would have some electric attack capabilities, but its output would be limited to under 100,000 volts.
Raikou and Zapdos, on the other hand, were designed to be combat-ready. Using metal compression technology, they could be stored in Poké Balls and carried around for long periods.
With backing from both capitalist investors and three top-tier scientists, the sheer power of these two 'legendary Pokémon' would undoubtedly be terrifying.
Soon, the group arrived at a café with outdoor seating, taking their places at plastic tables shaded by umbrellas. Each of them ordered a cold drink before continuing their conversation.
"By the way, which Pokémon do you think the other students in class would choose?" Kyoka asked curiously. By now, she was used to the constant attention from onlookers and no longer minded it much.
"Hagakure would probably pick a Ghost-type that can turn invisible—maybe Gastly?" Asui suggested.
"Gastly? She probably wouldn't like that very much…" Uraraka muttered, looking slightly creeped out.
Momo took a sip of her chilled juice and smiled. "Tokoyami would definitely go with Murkrow—it's too fitting!"
"Midoriya feels like a Tyrogue or a Hitmonlee, definitely a Fighting-type! He has that fearless vibe," Uraraka said, recalling how Midoriya had charged toward the zero-point villain during the entrance exam just to save her. She knew she'd never forget that moment.
"The hardest one to match is probably Todoroki. There aren't any Pokémon that are half-fire, half-ice."
After saying that, Momo turned to Kaminari and joked, "Are you going to design one just for him?"
Kaminari thought for a moment, then shook his head. "Nah, Vulpix works just fine. Even though it's Fire-type, there's an Ice-type Alolan Vulpix, so Vulpix or Ninetales would suit Todoroki best."
"If he's willing to pay extra, I can get it for him early. That way, he can have both a Fire-type and an Ice-type Vulpix."
Hearing this, Momo sighed. "But I already have a Vulpix. Wouldn't it be weird if two people in class had the same Pokémon?"
"Yours is Fire-type, while Todoroki can have the Ice-type Vulpix. He seems to prefer using ice, anyway," Kaminari replied casually.
Momo was left momentarily speechless.
Just then, Kaminari suddenly grinned. "Oh! I just thought of something hilarious. When you think of Bakugo, which Pokémon comes to mind first?"
"PRIMEAPE!!"
Uraraka, Kyoka, Momo, Asui—and a completely unexpected voice—shouted in unison.
After a moment of silence, they all burst into laughter.
"Wait, why are you here?"
Kaminari was the first to notice a small purple figure approaching. His eyes narrowed in suspicion. "And… why are you wearing a waiter's uniform?"
"Mineta-kun?!" The girls finally noticed the little grape-haired boy.
"I took a part-time job for the duration of the expo. This way, I get paid and I can check out the exhibits during my break—two birds with one stone!" Mineta explained seriously.
But then, his true nature emerged. His expression turned dreamy as he added, "The best part? I might have a perfect encounter with a cute girl!"
The girls all stared at him blankly, unimpressed by his exaggerated facial expressions.
"It's weird!"
Kaminari suddenly spoke up, catching everyone's attention.
"Bonsly—don't you think Mineta looks just like Bonsly? Especially in his hero costume, he's exactly the same!"
"What?" Mineta was completely lost.
But the girls recalled the Pokémon's appearance, and in the next second, they gasped in shock.
"IT'S TRUE! HE'S EXACTLY LIKE BONSLY!!"
