Before long, with help from a group of lower-ranked Iwagakure shinobi, four Iwagakure jounin, including Kurokawa Ichiro and Kurokaze, managed to break free from their Konoha jounin opponents and joined Kurokawa Ichiro's side. The Konoha jounin attempted to stop them, but at Aoi Akira's signal, they gave up the chase and focused entirely on the lower-ranked Iwagakure forces in the field.
With this regrouping, there were now six Iwagakure jounin surrounding Aoi Akira. However, only Kurokawa Ichiro and Kurokaze were full jounin, while the remaining four were only tokubetsu jounin—stronger than Shinbara Nobunaga and his team, but not by a substantial margin. After their skirmish with the Konoha jounin, these six were visibly drained, with some even showing noticeable injuries.
Confident in his abilities, Aoi Akira surveyed the six men closing in on him. He believed that defeating these jounin would be the key to victory, as the morale of the remaining Iwagakure forces would collapse entirely. This understanding steeled his gaze as he locked eyes with his opponents. His Sharingan eyes shone with a cold, blood-red intensity, unsettling the Iwagakure shinobi.
But these hardened veterans didn't flinch for long. Instead, the six launched an attack immediately as Aoi Akira's gaze swept over them. Two of them hurled kunai aimed directly at Aoi Akira's vital points. Meanwhile, two others used Earth Release: Rising Stone Spears to create sharp spikes that erupted from the ground to restrict his movements. As for the remaining two, Kurokawa Ichiro conjured six fist-sized fireballs, each aimed at different directions around Aoi Akira, while Kurokaze's body turned gray-brown as he launched himself like a cannonball at Aoi Akira.
Despite the onslaught, Aoi Akira remained calm. His Sharingan spun rapidly, capturing every detail in his line of sight as his mind processed each attack's trajectory and possible outcomes. In a series of agile movements, he dodged the kunai, evaded the emerging stone spears, and countered Kurokawa Ichiro's fireballs with his own Phoenix Fire Technique. Meanwhile, Kurokaze, who had used an Earth Release technique to harden his body, was immobilized when Aoi Akira employed his Sharingan Genjutsu.
These defensive maneuvers happened in the blink of an eye as Aoi Akira neutralized all six attacks. Without any hesitation, he swiftly performed a Wind Release: Blade of Wind. A single meter-long wind blade shot out toward the frozen Kurokaze, allowing Aoi Akira to gauge his opponent's Earth Release defense. Seeing Kurokawa Ichiro rush forward to pull Kurokaze out of harm's way, Aoi Akira deduced that Kurokaze likely couldn't withstand his attacks directly.
Unfazed, Aoi Akira adjusted his strategy, choosing not to rely on that insight until fully confirmed. The other four Iwagakure jounin attacked him again, two casting jutsu to limit his space while two advanced. Aoi Akira dodged with skill, then drew his short sword, dashing forward with swift footwork to confront the two attackers.
"Sharingan Genjutsu!"
One of the advancing Iwagakure jounin froze on the spot, falling prey to Aoi Akira's genjutsu. His partner noticed immediately and thrust his kunai at Aoi Akira in an attempt to force him back. But Aoi Akira didn't retreat; instead, he parried the kunai with his sword, casting Genjutsu: Phantom Sword, briefly disorienting his attacker. Using that moment, he concentrated chakra in his left palm, forming a Rasengan. In one fluid motion, he aimed it at the immobilized Iwagakure jounin.
"What—?" The disoriented jounin, snapping out of his daze, could only watch in shock as Aoi Akira's Rasengan struck his teammate, sending him reeling as Aoi Akira swiftly retreated. The other Iwagakure jounin's kunai just barely nicked Aoi Akira, leaving a small slash across his chest.
Boom! Boom!
Two jutsu collided nearby, but Aoi Akira evaded both. The first exchange came to a close, with Aoi Akira trading a small chest wound for a critical injury to one of his opponents. The Rasengan, though brief in contact, had inflicted serious internal damage on the Iwagakure jounin, effectively rendering him useless for the remainder of the battle. This meant one less enemy to face.
Kurokawa Ichiro, while displeased, remained calm, taking some consolation in Aoi Akira's own wound. However, his face darkened when he noticed Aoi Akira forming a series of hand signs before channeling a green chakra into his body, slowing his bleeding and beginning to heal his wound at a visible rate. Although not exceptionally fast, the regeneration was steady and efficient. Within minutes, Aoi Akira would likely be fully healed.
Seeing this, Kurokawa Ichiro's expression grew even grimmer. Watching his own side sustain heavy losses while the enemy showed no signs of slowing down was deeply disheartening.
