The ground grew increasingly slippery as Zarek's path led into an icy tunnel. It was slightly warmer compared to the frozen terrain outside. Surprisingly, Maley didn't seem bothered by the chill at all.
"I've been walking for more than two hours and still haven't found anything—just snow and more snow," Zarek thought to himself with growing frustration. "I hope I reach one of the guardians before anyone else does."
"Sword guy, why isn't there any monsters here?" Maley asked, swinging her legs lazily.
"I don't know," Zarek replied flatly.
"Huh… We've been walking for hours and Maley still hasn't found Bailey."
Zarek sighed. "The one walking is me. You're just sitting on my traps."
"Did you say something?" she asked, peering down at him.
"Nope. I didn't say anything."
"No, Maley heard something. What was it?"
Suddenly, Zarek's steps halted. His senses kicked in like a switch being flipped.
