Aurora could do no more than defy Theodore with words—for now. She needed to awaken her powers. Though she knew not how, deep within her stirred a force far greater than fear.
Her wide, vacant eyes fixed on him as he approached, his fingers fumbling at her garments.
He paused, a frown curving his lips. "Why aren't you fighting anymore? This has become dreadfully dull," he sneered, the thrill gone from his voice.
With a rough tug, he ripped her gown at the shoulder. Aurora clenched her eyes shut, rage simmering like coals beneath her ribs. He leaned in, his eyes gleaming wickedly at the sight of her bare skin.
"Beautiful," he murmured, a growl in his throat, reaching to touch her chest.
But before his fingers could land, Aurora's eyes snapped open—cold and alight with fury. Like a striking viper, she seized his wrist and bit down with brutal force.
