Chapter 492 - Exploring Cosmic Remnants and the Feathered God's Corpse

On the bow deck of the Doomsday Ark, Rosen released the Elemental Saint God, whose memories had been parasitized by Indestructible Source Seeds. The Elemental Saint God cautiously left the Doomsday Ark and gradually approached the cosmic remnant, facing the continuously radiating light. Soon, the Elemental Saint God vanished into the white light, entering a gap torn open on the surface of the shattered cosmic barrier.

However, the moment the Elemental Saint God stepped into the gap, Rosen could no longer perceive his Indestructible Source Seeds. Some special power had directly interrupted his connection with the Indestructible Source Seeds. Rosen had anticipated the possibility of this connection being severed. Therefore, according to the command he had given the Elemental Saint God, the Elemental Saint God should have returned immediately after losing connection.

Now, the Elemental Saint God hadn't emerged. It was possible he was trapped within the cosmic remnant, or he might have already died. Rosen then dispatched two more Eternal Lifeforms whose memories had been cleansed. The result was that after entering through different gaps, they all silently vanished. Clearly, using Eternal Lifeforms to scout was like throwing meat buns to a dog—they went in but never came back.

To continue scouting, at least an Eternal Lifeform who had mastered Indestructible Will was needed. He had such a being by his side. Although the Ancient God's memories were destroyed and his Indestructible Will shattered, as long as the Indestructible Will was reformed and his memories re-injected, it wouldn't be difficult to bring the Ancient God back to life and make him obey.

However, doing so carried risks, because the destroyed memories would also be resurrected indestructibly. While memory was indeed the biggest weakness of Indestructible Will, memory could, in a strict sense, also be indestructible. It was just that unlike Divine Origin and Life Origin, which regenerated and recovered in extremely short periods, the indestructible regeneration of memory was very slow and very difficult.

A portion of the Lunar Saint God's Indestructible Will reformed in the Night Veil Society, taking at least billions of years to barely regenerate past life memories. But even then, countless negative mental forces disrupted the memories until they were completely restored after being purified by the Symphony of Natural Joy.

So, Rosen actually wasn't worried about the Ancient God's erased memories regenerating indestructibly in a short time. He was worried that the Ancient God, like the Elemental Saint God and his companions, would enter the cosmic remnant and be lost forever. Indestructible Will was indeed formidable, but the universe possessed the ability to destroy Indestructible Will.

The Lunar Saint God and his allies, in order to acquire Universe Source Seeds, had once integrated their Indestructible Will into the Heart of the Universe of the Starry Sky Universe. But after the Heart of the Universe underwent Nirvana and rebirth, Rosen found no trace of Indestructible Will in the New Universe, not even shattered Indestructible Will. Initially, he thought it was because his strength wasn't enough to properly investigate.

However, after his true body completely advanced to a Primeval Lifeform, he re-investigated the New Universe before leaving. Still, he found no trace whatsoever. It was clear that the Indestructible Will that the Lunar Saint God and his allies had integrated into it was truly destroyed.

Aside from the Chaos Saint God's method of voluntarily dispersing his Indestructible Will, this was the second confirmed way Rosen knew to destroy Indestructible Will. Since the Heart of the Universe's Nirvana could destroy Indestructible Will, the cosmic remnant might also be capable of destroying Indestructible Will.

Rosen deliberated repeatedly but still couldn't bear to lose it. He moved away from the cosmic remnant and summoned his Heaven-Splitting Divine Axe, striking it down. He directly tore open a spacetime rift, which allowed him to discern at least a little of the truth through it. Even if there was danger, he believed he could withstand it. If he couldn't even withstand the danger across a spacetime rift, then Primeval Lifeforms would be too worthless.

As the spacetime rift was torn open by the axe blade, formless, massless white light, visible but imperceptible, immediately shot out from it. Rosen's Creator's Domain directly plunged into the spacetime rift, facing the white light. Within the domain was the Root Heavenly Eye. However, not to mention seeing anything, both the domain and the Root Heavenly Eye completely lost contact upon entering the rift.

Rosen immediately retracted his Creator's Domain. With all his might, he managed to pull back only a small portion of the domain that had entered the rift. Fortunately, the Root Heavenly Eye was well-protected and undamaged. He immediately retrieved the Root Heavenly Eye to examine what it had seen and experienced beyond the rift.

It turned out that the moment the domain crossed the spacetime rift, a feather appeared out of nowhere in the void. With just one strike, it heavily damaged the domain. Rosen was a Primeval Lifeform now, after all. He was very certain that the power displayed by the feather was not at the Primeval Lifeform level.

"Is there a Transcendent in the cosmic remnant?" Rosen thought, unsurprised.

This was once a universe, after all. If the Primeval Universe could give birth to so many Primeval Lifeforms and Transcendent, it was perfectly normal for this universe to have given birth to a Transcendent. It just seemed that this Transcendent was either dead or insane.

Rosen then continued to cleave open spacetime rifts, constantly performing various tests. He discovered that, except for the Dark Sun Heavenly Eye which remained unaffected, all other powers that stepped into the cosmic remnant's interior would inevitably face a thunderous strike.

Rosen released his Yinglong Clone, stripping off the Dark Sun Heavenly Eye and integrating it into the clone's glabella. With a portion of his Indestructible Will now in the Yinglong Clone, he cautiously passed through the spacetime rift his true body had opened.

Infinite white light obscured everything, but fortunately, there were no attacks. Rosen then took out the Primeval Sacred Object, Grand Lunar Scenery, and an endless stream of Lunar Indestructible Cold Light immediately scattered into the void. After advancing to a Primeval Lifeform, he had spent these past years on his journey primarily learning existing Primeval Sacred Laws.

The Lunar Saint God's Lunar Indestructible Cold Light froze all things, while the Chaos Saint God's Chaos Indestructible Divine Light destroyed and annihilated all things. These Primeval Sacred Laws were developed by Primeval Lifeforms over countless years, and using them directly was more efficient than him trying to derive them himself. After all, deriving a flawless Primeval Sacred Law was not something that could be done in a short amount of time.

Rosen had spent a hundred thousand years in deduction, yet he still couldn't surpass these two Primeval Sacred Laws. This was especially true for the Lunar Indestructible Cold Light, which also had the complementary Primeval Sacred Object, Grand Lunar Scenery. Primeval Sacred Objects not permanently fused with Indestructible Will were, strictly speaking, in an incomplete state. This is because only with permanent fusion of Indestructible Will would a Primeval Sacred Object gain indestructible properties.

Even if an Eternal Lifeform possessed Indestructible Will, they couldn't permanently integrate it into a Primeval Sacred Object; doing so would essentially abandon their hope of advancing to a Primeval Lifeform. Only true Primeval Lifeforms had surplus Indestructible Will to permanently integrate into Primeval Sacred Objects.

At this moment, the Lunar Indestructible Cold Light, infused with Indestructible Will, continuously froze everything in Rosen's surroundings. Yet, it was empty; there was nothing inside the cosmic remnant except for spacetime.

Rosen's body instantly etherealized, merging into the Lunar Indestructible Cold Light. Using the moon within the light as a medium, he reached the furthest extent of spacetime touched by the Lunar Indestructible Cold Light. Immediately after, he once again unleashed countless Lunar Indestructible Cold Lights using the Grand Lunar Scenery.

Although his senses became completely useless once they left his domain, the Lunar Indestructible Cold Light could substitute for his perception. If anything was frozen, he could immediately use light-teleportation to reach it. The interior of the universe was vast, and Rosen's approach was like searching for a needle in a haystack. But there was no alternative; this clumsy method was the only one available.

After hundreds or thousands of years of exploration, the Lunar Indestructible Cold Light finally made contact with something beyond the void spacetime on this day. This time, Rosen didn't immediately use light-teleportation to get closer. Instead, he slowly approached, following the Lunar Indestructible Cold Light.

He simultaneously released more Lunar Indestructible Cold Light, carefully freezing the objects he encountered. Only after getting closer did he expand his domain to envelop the frozen objects. The object was at least dozens of light-years long, appearing somewhat similar to a bird, but it had no legs, only wings. Half of one wing was missing, leaving behind a horrific wound, and almost all of its feathers had fallen off. Its flesh was withered, showing no signs of life.

Rosen didn't study it meticulously. Instead, he carefully placed the corpse into the Grand Lunar Scenery. Then, when his true body periodically opened spacetime rifts using the clone as a marker, he would be able to send this corpse out of the cosmic remnant.

A few days later, the weekly spacetime rift appeared right on schedule. As the Grand Lunar Scenery passed through the rift, Rosen's true body was slightly startled upon seeing it. If there hadn't been a discovery, the clone wouldn't have sent the Grand Lunar Scenery out. Rosen immediately retrieved the corpse from within, then sent the Grand Lunar Scenery back through the spacetime rift to his Yinglong Clone.

Inside the Miracle Star Sea, Rosen meticulously studied the corpse. Based on his initial assessment, this was the corpse of a Transcendent. However, in the withered flesh of the corpse, he found no information related to Indestructible Will.

Rosen discovered a different kind of power, one distinct from Indestructible Will. This power was the ultimate evolution of pure Life Origin, achieving a body even stronger than a Primeval Sacred Body through the infinite growth of Life Origin. At its peak, this corpse could probably shatter him with a mere flap of its wing.

Yet, such a powerful entity had its wings torn off and its blood drained. The cause of death was a scorched brain; the brain was this life's most fatal weakness. This was because this life, even more powerful than a Primeval Lifeform, simply did not possess spirituality or a soul. The memories stored in its brain were this life's sole self-awareness.

Therefore, when its brain was destroyed, this life perished. In the beginning, the corpse should still have been able to move instinctively. It was only after the energy within the corpse continuously drained that it finally became this motionless, desiccated remains.

After Rosen dissected the corpse's abdomen, he excavated enormous bird eggs, each a million times larger than Blue Star. The vast majority of these eggs were mere empty shells, with only one still containing a trace of life force. All of the life origin that had drained from this corpse had gathered into this single egg. The nutrients from the other eggs also seemed to have been plundered by this one.

However, even so, this egg could not hatch. Although a remnant of life force persisted, the embryo inside the eggshell was malformed and stunted. Rosen cut open the eggshell with the Heaven-Splitting Divine Axe, and there was no trace of egg fluid left inside. A malformed, legless bird-shaped embryo in the center of the eggshell continuously twitched. This death struggle had been going on for an unknown number of years; its extremely powerful life force, ironically, brought endless suffering.

Rosen vivisected this embryo, extracting an underdeveloped brain. The Main God Computer, enhanced by the Miracle Star Sea, immediately transformed into a biological supercomputer, parasitically integrating into this underdeveloped brain. As expected, there was a harvest: the brain contained partial inherited memories.

All life possesses inheritance. This type of life, lacking spirituality and a soul, has its inheritance either in its bloodline or its brain. No inherited memories were found within the embryo's blood, but fortunately, the underdeveloped brain contained some inherited memories.

As the memories stored within the brain were continuously analyzed, Rosen learned about the past of this nearby cosmic remnant. Not all universes, like the Primeval Universe, gave birth to numerous lifeforms. This universe was called the Void Universe. Within it, besides the endless void, there was only the Cosmic Origin Sea.

The Void Universe gave birth to only nine lifeforms, naturally transcending Primeval Lifeforms. These nine lifeforms were all bird-shaped but had no legs. They flew eternally in the endless void, never landing, hardly ever stopping. The Void Universe itself was almost too small for these nine colossal bird-beasts.

So, they left the Void Universe very early on, frequently traveling to other universes in the endless deep space. Some weak universes were inevitably plundered of their origin. Other universes had powerful existences of a similar level; even if they couldn't defeat them, they could retreat unharmed. Eons passed, and by continuously plundering origins, the Void Universe grew stronger and stronger.

At that time, the endless void was not dark; instead, it was kaleidoscopic and overflowing with radiant light. The spacetime origin in the endless void was abundant then, making it easy to twist spacetime and travel to other universes.

Until one day, the Feathered God, one of the nine colossal beasts, was soaring through the endless void. Suddenly, the Void Universe was enveloped by infinite white light. The Feathered God lost all external sensory abilities, and then was attacked. It was a humanoid lifeform, like a dried corpse, who killed the Feathered God in a very short time and drained his blood.

When the Feathered God was critically wounded and near death, he desperately tried to create a new life in his abdomen. The result, of course, was failure. The embryo's brain inside the eggshell was underdeveloped and simply couldn't hold all of the Feathered God's memories to allow him to survive through it. It was only when the Yinglong Clone captured the Feathered God's dried corpse that these incomplete memories reappeared in the world.

The memories in the brain were of limited value because the Feathered God's intelligence was not particularly high. The Feathered God was born without the need for cultivation; he only needed to eat to grow, so he hadn't developed any cultivation system.

Rosen had actually seen lifeforms similar to the Feathered God before. Lifeforms without spirituality and a soul, only a body and memories, naturally wouldn't have high intelligence. This is because spirituality is the source of wisdom, and life without spirituality finds it difficult to develop advanced intelligence. The Feathered God's intelligence being no less than that of an ordinary human was already astonishing.

Rosen continued to dissect the Feathered God embryo's brain, extracting a kaleidoscopic brain core. This brain core was the Feathered God's vital core, second only to its brain. Although the Feathered God's intelligence was limited and it hadn't created an extraordinary system suited to itself, the Feathered God, by virtue of its innate brain core, could master powerful life talents. This brain core should be the most valuable relic from the Feathered God's dried corpse.

The brain core was very small for the Feathered God, roughly the size of a dozen Blue Stars. But for Rosen, it was a bit large. He tried to refine it with Indestructible Will, but the effect wasn't very good. This brain core naturally repelled spirituality, making it almost impossible to refine it with Indestructible Will.

Rosen then tried refining it with Life Origin, which was very easy this time. However, completely refining it would require an astonishing amount of Life Origin; even if his Life Origin was a hundred times stronger, he would struggle to refine this brain core.

Because the item was too good, it was unusable.

Rosen was naturally unwilling to give up. He looked up at the Feathered God embryo, which was still twitching. Although it was just an embryo, the life origin within it was astonishing.

The Primeval Lifeform's Indestructible Will possessed uniqueness; no matter how strong a clone was, it could only possess Eternal Will, or the true body would have to peel off its own Indestructible Will and integrate it into the clone's body. Therefore, a Primeval Lifeform's clone, at most, had the power level of a Sinful Lifeform.

However, if a clone absorbed the life origin of this embryo, it might grow to be no less powerful than a Primeval Lifeform. It might even be stronger than his true body in the short term if it could control this brain core.

Rosen swung his Heaven-Splitting Divine Axe, tearing open a spacetime rift, and replaced the Yinglong Clone with his Death God Clone. The Feathered God was a bird-shaped lifeform, making it relatively more compatible with the Yinglong Clone. By mastering the Feathered God's life talent, the difficulty of traveling to other cosmic remnants would undoubtedly be greatly reduced.

The Yinglong Clone gazed at the twitching young bird embryo before him, feeling the immense disparity in their life origins and finding it hard to proceed. The gap in their life origins was too vast; he had no doubt that his own life origin would be plundered by this embryo in return. However, since his true body had called him back, he must have already thought of a solution.
