Chapter 5
Ivar
After spending the long day with my mama, I was exhausted. I was really tired, but I wanted to at least see Ragnar before I retired to bed. What if he chased me away?
I was desperate to see him, but I also didn't want to disturb him in his room. So instead, I returned to my room to sleep.
When I walked into my room, I noticed something was odd. I looked around the dark space. I quickly walked toward the table, about to light the lantern when I heard a slight sound. Turning my head, I saw a figure seated on my chair, legs crossed. I stared at the figure closely and sighed when I realized it was Ragnar.
His long black hair fell to his shoulders. Like my mama, I had long curly ginger hair. My eyes were the color of forest trees, and my skin was as pale as her's. With a small round face, many men took me lightly on the battlefield. They thought I was just a young, weak woman until I struck them with my sword; only then did they realize my experience.
