"Talking"
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Your Highness, we have lost communication with the Pinrut Squad," A gruff Saiyan reported, the man bowing his head lightly up toward King Vegeta. The man was tall, muscular, and had a square face that fit his square-shaped short hair. He was dressed in typical Saiyan armor.
"Another one?" King Vegeta mused, his eyes shining with a slight interest as he sat on his throne, "How many is that now?"
"Four Saiyan Squads and twenty-one Frieza Force Squads, Your Highness," The man answered easily.
"This little 'coalition' seems to be rather sturdy," King Vegeta hummed, but a smirk was forming on his face, "The Pinrut Squad were one of my elite squads. It seems we might have to take them seriously."
The man wisely didn't respond, simply waiting for King Vegeta to give him his orders.
"Pass this situation to S-Class," King Vegeta's smirk turned a bit cruel, and the man's eyes widened, "Tell Renso to send one of those brats on a mission to handle it."
"N-Not to question you, Your Highness, but…" The man looked uncertainly at King Vegeta, "If even our elite squads can't conquer the coalition, won't those recruits just die?"
"Maybe," King Vegeta shrugged uncaringly, his smirk turning even more cruel as he leaned forward, "That's why you'll relay a message to Renso along with it. Tell him to give this mission to the recruit named Gray."

Gray POV
If they're providing all these training rooms, I'm damn sure going to take advantage of them!
Gray grinned as he stepped into the first room, taking a look around it. The circular center of the S-Class training room led to a variety of different training rooms, each of which could be used for a different type of training.
This is… surprising.
Gray glanced at the room in front of him, which was actually just a massive pit of water. The room stretched out roughly a hundred feet forward and was nearly as wide, but where the floor should've been was instead a swimming pool of water. Seeing a training room dedicated to swimming was rather surprising, as while swimming was good for training your body, it wasn't all that intense.
I didn't think there would be any Saiyans who used it.
It also didn't help with fighting either, but for Gray - who had the [Swimming] skill - it was perfect.
It'd be nice if all the rooms were like this.
If each room happened to be coincidentally good for leveling up one of his skills, then he could train just as efficiently as he had been on Earth. In fact, he could be more efficiently by also training with other S-Class recruits.
Unfortunately, the water-filled room was the only one that directly correlated to one of Gray's skills. But, fortunately, the other training rooms were far from bare. They were actually rather impressive too, as it seemed that the Saiyans made use of their access to well-developed technology.
There were multiple climate-centric rooms, which pretty much just simulated different rough environments. One was freezing cold and literally had snow blowing around, while another was burning hot with hot coals laid around. Beyond that, there was a room to focus on perfecting the aim and control of Ki blasts, as it had various drone-like targets that would float around.
But no gravity room.
Training in intense gravity was the most efficient way to train overall, as it allowed Gray to gain progress on his skills faster overall. It was essentially a time-saver.
This is a good time to test out my new skills.
Gray stepped into another training room, which was completely empty and looked like its purpose was for sparring. The room was smaller than the other ones he had explored, as it had thick walls that seemed like they were made to hold up against Ki blasts.
Gray had been able to test out his magical skills a bit on Yardrat, as well as the ones he had learned from Pybara, but he hadn't done any real training with them yet.
I haven't tried this yet either.
Gray held up his hand, and a small ball of Ki formed in it. He flung it forward, then creased his brow as he focused on the ball. He twisted his wrist slightly, and the ball started to waver, then spun around before it hit the wall and started barreling toward Gray.
[Tracking Ki Blast] - A Ki blast that will track your opponent, following them until it is destroyed.
+10 Ki for unlocking a KI-related skill! (10x multiplier from [Nightmare Mode])
+100 XP!
The ball shot towards its target, which in this case was Gray. However, Gray's goal in doing this wasn't actually to unlock the skill.
I doubt I'll use it much, but I'll at least level it up to get the Ki gains.
Gray already had [Tracking MP Blast], but a Ki variant was would be easier to use, and both skills weren't useful enough that he imagined he'd be using them much.
His real target was his [Reflect] skill. He quickly used [MP Conversion] to force some of his Ki to become MP, then he focused on the ball of Ki shooting toward him. He raised his palm as he willed the skill to activate.
-0 HP! (2,412,100/2,412,100)
-2,000 HP! (2,410,100/2,412,100)
Gray blinked, staring at the two numbers blankly, but nodded as he understood what happened.
Right, it reflects the attack. I reflected it into myself since I launched the attack.
Admittedly, the test wasn't all that helpful, so Gray shifted into a fighting stance. He cupped his palms, his Ki building up in his palms as he formed a [Kokuyo]. He thrust his arms forward and the beam of Ki shot towards the wall much quicker than the ball had, but it also curved around just before it slammed into the wall.
This should exceed the cap.
Gray braced himself as the attack streamed back toward him. He hadn't put all that much Ki into the attack, as he wasn't trying to truly injure himself, but it would still hurt a fair bit.
The [Kokuyo] slammed directly into Gray's chest, and he hissed lightly in pain as it exploded around him. He flexed his chest, tanking the blow.
-5,170 HP! (2,404,930/2,412,100)
-48,000 HP! (2,356,930/2,412,100)
That confirms it.
Gray shook off the pain and wasn't sure if he was happy with the result or not.
Reflect doesn't just reflect anything that does less than 50,000 damage - it reflects 50,000 damage total. It probably has a timer for when it recharges, but I don't know how long it is.
He had taken five thousand damage from the initial attack because that was the amount that exceeded his reflection limit, and then he had taken the remaining forty-eight thousand from reflecting his own attack.
I think I would've preferred if I could just reflect any attack under 50,000 damage, but this is still fine.
If the skill had functioned in the other way he had suspected it might, then Gray could focus solely on leveling it up a ton and being able to completely reflect nearly any attack. The skill functioning this way still wasn't bad - he pretty much gained a 100,000 HP lead in any fight, as he would negate 50,000 of his own damage and apply it to his opponent. That lead would also only grow as he leveled up the skill.
I want to test this too.
Gray hadn't tested [Seal of Weakening] on anyone yet, so he didn't know how effective the [Weakening] debuff really was.
Can I even use a debuff on myself?
He quickly converted some more Ki into MP to find out. He glanced down at his own body, placing his palm on his chest as he willed the skill to activate.
You have been inflicted with the [Weakening] status condition!
It's not bad.
Gray nodded approvingly as he felt his body grow a bit sluggish. It wasn't that effective, as he felt like he had maybe lost 1% of his overall strength at best, but 1% could be the difference maker in a fight.
It's also still level 1. If I level it up a ton, it might actually be pretty good.
So, he got to work on leveling it up. He quickly found a nice little combination with the skill - if he applied the [Seal of Weakening] to himself it would allow him train his skills faster. The system viewed his body being weakened in a similar sense to gravity, so he gained more progress towards his skills as he trained them.
At the same time, he gained progress towards leveling up [Seal of Weakening] by using it on himself. He was able to train the skill while simultaneously gaining progress on his other skills a bit faster.
Gray spent the waning hours of the day working intensely in the various training rooms, focusing on progressing his new skills for the most part. Because of their current low level, along with his training being increased through using [Seal of Weakening], he was able to make some pretty good progress.
As he turned to leave the training room while the sun was setting outside the building, [Seal of Weakening], [Reflect] and [Tracking Ki Blast] had all reached level four. Meanwhile, the trio of [Portal Creation], [Multi-Form], and [Gigantification] had leveled up once. Finally, both [MP Conversion] and [Instant-Transmission] had reached level three.
Now, I'll go hang out in the cafeteria a bit before I rest-
"This is him, Kale?"
"A-Ah, yes!"
Gray paused as he stepped through the door, running into two women standing outside. One of them he already knew, as it was Kale, and the other one he also knew - but for different reasons.
Next to her stood a rather short woman with a head of spikey black hair. She had a pretty face, sizeable breasts, and a thin frame. Her body looked soft and smooth, but Gray knew that her lack of muscle didn't mean she lacked strength.
Caulifla? Didn't expect to see her so soon.
Gray knew he'd meet the girl eventually because he was friendly with Kale, but he didn't expect it to be his first day training in S-Class.
It's weird seeing her in that.
The girl was dressed in typical Saiyan armor, which looked pretty odd on her compared to her usually looser outfit.
"Hah, he's a big guy, eh?" Caulifla took a step forward at Gray, staring up at him with a grin as their chests almost touched.
"Let's have a spar!"
