I never thought it was possible, but celebrity scandal sheets in the mythological world put the National Enquirer and the gossip blog sites to shame.
"You do realize this confirms your celebrity status," Pigsy says to Wendigo Will. "They don't print gossip about you if you are a nobody."
Wendigo Will gnashes his teeth. "Can't I be more than a monster? I would NEVER eat my Jastam. I don't even think that's possible."
"It's not," Jastam huffs. "We're immortal. You can imprison us, or curse us, or enslave us. Not exactly desirable options, but preferable to being killed--because there is always a chance of escape. Whoever wrote that is ignorant."
Daji scans the gossip rag, which looks like a low-rent National Enquirer. "It has an 'unnamed djinn source' in the Djinn Palace saying you fear for your life. Why would any djinn say that?"
