"Of course it is," Daji answers, kissing him on his bare bony cheek. "It's just so sudden. You only had a five minute conversation and one day and night together."
Jastam looks as smug as a sleek giant cat after a successful hunt. Ironic, considering Wendigo Will has historically been the hunter. "After centuries of seeking, you don't need endless, pointless dates to realize when something is right." He pointedly looks at Daji, as if he somehow knows our story and how Daji bonded me after only three months and barely even an evening together.
Without missing a beat, Daji replies, "Of course. But you must realize Wendigo Will is one of us ... it's his name on the inn. We would have loved to throw you a wedding."
"We still will," I promise. "Before we leave for Xanadu in five days."
