Chapter 329: You Forced My Hand
Naruto went on to explain what he wished from the Daimyo.
Some time ago, he had promised Ino that if she ever wanted to become his wife, he would make the Daimyo change the law so they could do just that.
She didn't explicitly say it, but now that they had been together for several years, he understood her better than most, and this was something that she wanted, even if she wouldn't admit it.
So Naruto came here today to get that taken care of. He had hoped that if he did things more politely than he usually would, he could solve this issue without making a mess in the capital of the nation.
Tsunade would definitely become angry if he caused trouble here, and this could also mean more work for Ino.
The Daimyo listened to Naruto's explanation, and by the end, he looked somewhat confused. "Ehm… let me see if I understood you well. You burst into my palace and completely ignored all protocol to request a favor from me?"
"A small favor," Naruto pointed out.
"Hmph… the rumors about you were true after all. You are the most arrogant man I have ever seen." The Daimyo frowned.
"My Lord, please…" one of the ninjas said with an expression of concern.
They were worried because the Daimyo had no idea how dangerous Naruto was. Even if they told him that Naruto had single-handedly defeated an army or that he was the strongest ninja in Konoha, the Daimyo would just assume those were exaggerations.
The man liked to believe that he had the most powerful army and bodyguards in the entire nation, so no matter how strong Naruto was, he would be unable to do anything against their might.
The ninjas who were present in this chamber knew better.
"My Lord, it would be better if y—"
"Silence!" the Daimyo shouted, interrupting his advisor's words. "I will not have this disrespect." He pointed at Naruto. "You dare to come into my presence and demand things from me without even kneeling? In case your Hokage never taught you these things, Konoha belongs to me! And every single one of the ninjas there is mine to command as I please. I don't care how successful a career you had. You are still just a ninja...what makes you think you can ask me for any favors? I should have you arrested like the two banished Elders recommended back then!"
"Elders?" A pair of faces came to the front of his mind. Konoha used to have a couple of Elders who were banished by Tsunade for their wrongdoings. That also included trying to arrest him for no good reason.
"I see…" If those two Elders had been here and spoken to the Daimyo, he had no doubt that they had nothing good to say about him.
"I'll give you one chance, ninja. Get out of my presence right now and never return here. Because your accomplishments have also benefited me in some way, I will grant you this one opportunity to back away unscathed. So say thanks and go away… otherwise…"
The guards grasped their weapons and got ready to fight as the Daimyo let the threat hang.
The message was simple: if he didn't leave, he was going to be attacked by everyone in here.
' I should have known that things would end up like this. Tsunade is not going to like it,' Naruto thought. But he was not leaving without what he came here for.
His eyes began to glow.
"My Lord!" one of the ninjas behind the Daimyo hurried to grab him and pulled him back while the other one stood in front.
"Guards!!" the ruler of the Fire Country yelled.
Naruto saw dozens of sharp weapons being pointed at him, while several veteran Jonins moved in the background, preparing to attack him at the first opportunity.
Years ago, this would have been an interesting challenge. But that was no longer the case.
He lifted his finger, and the fight was over.
Everyone around him was pushed back with so much force that when they hit the walls of the chamber, they broke their armor and bones apart.
The ninjas who were hiding close to the roof fell down and collapsed on the floor with blood pouring from their mouths.
The only ones left were the Daimyo and the ninja next to him, who was ready to put his life on the line to defend his Lord.
"M-Monster…" The Daimyo's eyes were opened like plates. His peerless bodyguards had been defeated before they could even do anything.
"Naruto Uzumaki, please… reconsider this," the ninja spoke.
"You can lower that kunai. There is going to be no fight. You are too weak for that." Naruto made another gesture with his hand, and the entire palace began to shake violently.
"What is he doing?!" the Daimyo yelled.
Naruto snapped his fingers, and a powerful gust of high-pressure wind blew away the roof of the chamber, revealing the sky.
"Come… I will show you what I'm doing," Naruto said.
"Ahh!" The Daimyo felt his body become weightless and began to float in the air.
The ninja was suffering the same predicament. Although, unlike his Lord, he understood a bit better why this was happening. "Is this the power of the Rinnegan?"
Naruto teleported behind the Daimyo and grabbed him.
He then flew into the sky through the hole in the roof, leaving behind the ninja, who was struggling to regain his ability to move as he floated in the air.
"No! Let me go!" the ruler demanded while Naruto held him by the back of his clothes.
As they ascended higher and higher into the air, the man got a better look at his palace and understood the reason for the previous tremor.
"That's!... impossible…"
"Impossible? Obviously that's not the case. And it's just a palace… there's no need to be that impressed." Naruto glanced at the ruler's palace.
The entire structure had been pulled from its foundations and was now floating in the air, around one hundred feet from the ground.
"Remember that I tried to do things politely. I really tried… but you forced my hand. This is on you." Naruto scolded the Lord.
"P-please!... I'm sorry! Don't kill me." the Daimyo begged.
"Now you are going to listen to what I have to say… and then you are going to make a decision. Is that clear?" Naruto asked.
The older man nodded enthusiastically. "Yes sir!"
