After going back downstairs and into the kitchen, I used some kind of invisibility magic on myself and watched the head chef and the rest of the kitchen workers.
After watching them for a while and seeing that no one was talking about me, I decided that the head chef had kept his promise. Unfortunately, the situation tonight was bigger than I had imagined, so I was not sure that I could trust him.
