Realizing the old man's lies, Emrys silently stared at the old man for a few seconds.
He now understood that the Eyes of Stars were not passed down through bloodline as he said. If that were true, then the little girl, his granddaughter, should have them too. But she didn't.
Then the question is, how did the old man come into the possession of this pair of eyes?

A ridiculous thought flashed in Emrys's mind. But he shook his head and threw this thought to the back of his mind.

Emrys took a deep breath and suppressed all these random thoughts. He didn't speak right away. Instead, he slowly turned his head and looked around the village again. This time, he observed the village even more carefully.
