Chapter 2
The female doctor glanced at the ultrasound report and lab results, her brows furrowing tightly. "Yes, you are pregnant, without a doubt."
At that moment, Regina Brown felt her heart sink abruptly.
She even thought her mind went blank for a second, disbelief washing over her.
She had taken the morning-after pill.
How could she possibly be pregnant?
"Uh… Doctor… could there be a mistake? How could I be pregnant?"
Her tone revealed anxious desperation, "I always take the pills afterward, and besides, my husband and I aren't even together often."
The doctor's expression turned grave. "Sometimes emergency contraceptives don't work, either because you took them too late or for other reasons. Our test results are accurate, and honestly, my advice is that you shouldn't keep the baby. Have you been taking medications or stimulants recently?"
The doctor's words made her heart sink further as she shook her head frantically, "No."
