Jaylene, who had been supporting herself against the wall, suddenly came to a standstill, turned around, and fixed her gaze on the two men following her with a determined and clear look, her tone indifferent and distant as she spoke,
"Tell me now, what is the purpose of what you're doing?"
Before Jeremy Thompson could reply, Connor Osborne had already started defending himself, "Jaylene, I haven't done anything, have I?"
"Not done anything?" Jaylene sneered at Connor Osborne's words, "Then what was the meaning of what you told me on the deck about events from over five years ago? Does that not count as doing something?"
Connor Osborne was immediately silenced by Jaylene's retort.
"Let me speak first," Jeremy said, observing Jaylene standing there, her face pale as paper. He took two steps towards her, and seeing her retreat defensively, he instantly stopped.
