Su Jiyai smiled brightly. "Hello again, little ones."
The oldest girl tilted her head. "Did you call us for something, Grandma Fairy?"
Su Jiyai nodded. "Yes. You gave me a gift earlier. It made me very happy. So now… if I give you a gift back, would you accept it?"
The kids looked at each other, puzzled. "A gift?" one of them repeated.
"Yes," Su Jiyai said. "In return for your chocolates, I want to give you this food. Would that be alright?"
The tallest boy grinned. "It's a thank-you gift? Then of course we'll take it!"
"Yeah!" the others shouted happily. "Thank-you gifts are allowed!"
Su Jiyai laughed softly. "Then it's settled."
At that moment, the doors opened again, and the children's parents walked in. Most of them were in worn-out clothes, their faces tired from guarding the base in harsh weather. They looked at their kids first, then at the mountains of food, and finally at Su Jiyai.
They understood what had happened.
