At Cha Medical College, the principal had called all the students for an important announcement. The grand Mr. Cha Hall was packed with eager faces, students glancing at one another, curiosity evident in their eyes as they wondered about the sudden assembly.
As the principal stepped onto the stage, the lively chatter instantly died down, replaced by a heavy silence of anticipation.
Principal: Hello, my dear students. I can see the excitement on your faces, and I promise, the news I bring is worth the wait.
A brief pause allowed the suspense to build before he finally revealed the purpose of the gathering.
Principal: We are going on a medical trip for two weeks!
The hall erupted into cheers, applause echoing against the walls. Smiles spread across the students' faces as they exchanged thrilled whispers. Among the crowd, Y/N, Lio, Liaa, and Disa were beaming, their excitement evident as they clapped along with their peers.
Principal: The trip will take place in one week, but before that, all students must submit a parental consultation form. Ensure you receive your parents' approval and complete the necessary paperwork in time. Start preparing and packing we depart early morning on the scheduled day!
With that, the students wasted no time rushing out of the hall, buzzing with anticipation. Y/N and her friends Lio, Liaa, and Disa were no exception, practically running as they discussed their upcoming adventure.
To celebrate the announcement, the four friends decided to visit their favorite café. The familiar aroma of coffee and pastries welcomed them as they settled into their usual seats, their energy still brimming with excitement.
As they waited for their cold coffees to arrive, their conversation remained lively.
Lio: (taking a sip) Ugh, finally! I've been dreaming of a break like this.
Liaa: (smiling brightly) Same here. It feels like a dream. Everything is just perfect today.
Disa: (dramatically sighing before sipping her coffee) Amazing day, amazing weather, amazing news. Everything is just… amazing!
Y/N: (grinning as she took a sip) I can't wait to leave. Ahhh, even this coffee tastes better now!
Y/N playfully winked at Disa, making the group burst into laughter.
Y/N: I think I'll grab another coffee. Do you guys want one?
Lio, Liaa, and Disa: (in unison) No!
They exchanged surprised glances before laughing again. Shaking her head in amusement, Y/N stood up and walked to the counter to place her order.
Just as she was waiting for her drink, someone suddenly bumped into her from behind, causing her to stumble forward.
Startled, Y/N turned around, ready to confront the person, but before she could react, a strong hand caught her wrist, steadying her.
The boy stood alarmingly close, his deep, intense eyes locking onto hers. Though a mask covered the lower half of his face, his presence alone was striking commanding, almost dangerous.
???: Damn... I was expecting a simple apology, but instead, I get the prettiest glare I've ever seen.
His voice was deep and husky, carrying a strange allure. Y/N blinked, momentarily caught off guard, her mind scrambling to process his words.
Her surprise quickly turned into irritation. Who did he think he was? First, he bumped into her without an apology, and now he was calling her sweetheart? And that stare as if she were something rare, something he couldn't look away from.
Straightening her posture, Y/N crossed her arms and met his gaze with defiance.
Y/N: Excuse me, mister? First of all, you haven't apologized for bumping into me. And secondly, who are you calling sweetheart? Stay in your limits.
She stepped aside, putting distance between them, but before she could take another step, he closed the gap in an instant, leaning in even closer.
???: (whispering near her ear, voice dripping with amusement) I apologise my sweetheart…
A shiver ran down her spine, though she refused to show it. She grabbed her coffee from the counter, ready to walk away, but before she could, he gently yet firmly took hold of her wrist once more.
???: Do you even know who I am?
His words hung in the air, heavy with meaning. Y/N froze, her heart pounding as she met his unwavering gaze.

The Waiter: Ma'am, your coffee.
I quickly took my coffee, eager to leave the counter. But just as I turned, he grabbed my wrist.
???: (in a deep, husky voice) Do you know who I am?
Y/N's POV
What is wrong with this man? He grabbed my wrist just as I was leaving, holding me so tightly that I couldn't move. His face was uncomfortably close to mine, and I could feel the warmth of his breath brushing against my skin. My heart raced- not out of excitement but pure fear.
Who even asks such a question? And how am I supposed to know who he is?
He was staring at me, his grip firm, almost like he was afraid I'd run away. My voice trembled as I finally spoke.
Y/N: N...I... I don't know. Please let go. You're... it's h-hurting.
At my words, he immediately released my hand.
???: (softly chuckling) Hmm... that's unfortunate, babygirl.
Before I could even process what was happening, another man walked up to him.
??? Man: Mr. V, we need to leave immediately. There's an issue at the company, and they require your assistance.
Mr. V: (letting out a disappointed sigh) Fine. I'll be there in two minutes, Soobin.
Soobin: Yes, sir.
As Soobin walked away, he turned his gaze back to me. Without warning, he brushed a strand of hair away from my face, his cold, slender fingers grazing my skin.
Mr. V: (in a low, almost teasing tone) Guess I'll have to go now, babygirl. But don't worry. We'll meet again. Wait for me, darling.
I was frozen in place, utterly speechless. My heart was pounding, my thoughts scrambled. I didn't even get a chance to respond before he turned around and walked away.
Mr. V… I repeated the name in my head, staring at his retreating figure. Even though he wore a mask, I could tell- no, feel- that he was smirking.
When I finally snapped out of it, I rushed back to my table where my friends were sitting.
Author POV
Y/N's face was pale, and her hands trembled slightly as she reached her friends.
Lio: Y/N, what's wrong? You look like you've seen a ghost! Are you okay?
Y/N: (stammering) I... I don't know. I just met someone... he was so strange. Something about him felt... different. I was so scared. I don't even know what to do.
Lio: Do we need to call the police?!
Disa: (rolling her eyes) No need for that! It was probably just some weirdo messing around. Don't let it get to you, Y/N. We're here for you.
Liaa: (angrily slamming her hand on the table) Disa, stop brushing it off! Y/N, tell us everything. Have you seen him before? Do you know who he is? Because if I see him again, I'll break his face! I'm not afraid to use my karate skills.
Y/N: (shaking her head, trying to calm herself) No, I've never met him before. But… he called himself Mr. V.

Y/N: Hmm, yes, his name was something like... Mr. V.
Lio, Liaa, and Disa together: What?!
They all suddenly froze, their faces turning pale. They exchanged uneasy glances, saying nothing. I had no idea what was going on.
Y/N: What's wrong? Why are you acting like this? Why do you look so scared? Is everything okay? Please, tell me!
Liaa: Okay, okay, baby, relax.
Y/N: No, tell me now! What happened?
Disa: You seriously don't know who Mr. V is?
Lio: Fine, I'll explain everything. Mr. V is a very famous name. It all started with the Kim's and the Park's two powerful corporations. The Kim's are three brothers- Mr. V, Mr. Jin, and Mr. Namjoon. They are incredibly wealthy and influential businessmen.
Y/N: I've heard of them... mostly in books and news articles. Especially Mr. Jin- he's the chairman, right?
Liaa: Yes, but there's more. People whisper that they're mafia bosses. Some think it's just a rumor, while others swear it's true. They're said to be extremely dangerous.
Disa: And then there's the Parks- Mr. Park Jimin is Mr. V's best friend. He's also part of the mafia, along with Mr. Yoongi, Mr. Hoseok, and Jeon Jungkook.
Lio: The craziest part? No one has ever seen Mr. V's face. He always wears a mask, and hardly anyone knows much about him.
Liaa: Oh, and I almost forgot there's someone named Mojo Joss. He's Mr. V's biggest rival. A real villain. He's done terrible things.
Y/N: Wow... I don't even know what to say right now.
Lio: Now, tell us what exactly happened?
Y/N: He accidentally bumped into me and apologized, but I didn't think he was sincere, so I yelled at him. But instead of getting angry, he apologized again. His calmness was... unsettling. His behaviour was not good. Before anything else could happen, a man named Soobin came and took him away, saying something about the company. But it's fine.
Disa: Don't worry, we're here for you.
Y/N: I just don't want to get caught up in this mafia business. Can we focus on our medical trip? How long has it been? We're probably late! Let's go.
Lio: Oh no! You're right. But wait, I need to shop from the store first.
Liaa: Alright, let's hurry up.
Y/N: Sure, let's go.
They all left the café and headed to the store. While we were shopping, I got a call.
Y/N: Sorry, everyone. I need to go to the library. The librarian just called me. You go ahead, and I'll catch up later.
Lio: I'll come with you.
Y/N: No need. You go pack your bags; I'll manage. Don't worry.
Disa: Alright, but be careful.
Y/N: Bye!
Lio: If anything happens, call me, okay?
Y/N: Yes, Mom, I will.
