Even the opening volley of the clash between those loyal to Central Command and the Eastern separatists was so horrifically brutal, efficiently savage, and bloody that it made the battle fought on the sands of Los Diablos' south beaches look like a conflict between rival street gangs.
Both sides consisted of soldiers who had previously trained together and called each other brothers in arms less than a year ago. On paper, the forces were all but equally matched as they had access to the same training, weapons, vehicles, and more. What should have been a battle of wits, tactics, strategies, and leadership capabilities that dragged on and on as each side tried to outmaneuver the other quickly became one-sided.
