A week had passed since the battle of the century. Trinity was sitting on the bench on top of the cliff overlooking the sea, with the waves crashing on the rocks many feet below. This was the same place her mate, Tyrone, had given her the news of her father's passing. This place held a special place in her heart, as it was here that they had their first open and honest conversation.
After getting discharged from the hospital, Trinity, with the help of Emeralda, sent out word of another meeting, which was today, in which the new Dragon Lady wanted to address her people, and change some major rules, which she had gone over with Martha and Emeralda. Stacey had been busy with kindergarten and preschool teachers to get the young ones back into school as soon as possible.
She had heard that after they escaped the dungeons, Ryphonsus had treated everyone like insects. The guards incharge of looking after them had been killed along with their families, and anyone who tried to question him was instantly beheaded.
The dragons who came to fight with them were threatened, and the ones who refused, were killed.
She, as their new leader, had to change all this. Trinity has to protect her dragon people, and take care of herself. Soon, everyone will get to know she's pregnant, and while some may welcome the news, others may see it as opportunity to take revenge.
As the sun shone on the water below, and the scent of the ocean feeled her up, she knew that she can win any battle or war with anyone, as long as her baby was protected.
"Trinity?"
The dark haired girl turned around and saw Stacey standing there with a file in her hands.
"Stacey! I feel like we haven't seen each other for so long," saying this, Trinity hugged her friend. "How's the kindergarten project going on?"
"It's completed. I just needed you to see it, and announce the opening day," Stacey replied happily.
"I trust you, so I don't need to see it... when do you want to open it up?"
"Anytime will do; even tomorrow!"
"Well, tomorrow it is then!"
"The meeting is at five, isn't it?"
"Yes, I want to start early, so that the others can get some rest at night. I'll let everyone know about school opening tomorrow at that meeting," Trinity said with a smile. No one besides her mother knew of her pregnancy, and she planned to keep it that way, until the first signs showed up, which wouldn't be long.
As Trinity walked up the steps onto the stage, she glanced towards the crowd, which appeared to have mixed reactions regarding her. Some saw her as a dragon who was very powerful, while others saw her as an abomination who didn't belong in this world.
"Greetings to you all. Our last meeting couldn't end, as I had to be rushed to hospital, so I've called on this meeting today to discuss some very important things," Trinity started, hoping that this time, things turn out fine.
"During our last meeting, I mentioned changes in the rules; so my friends and I were able to come up with some entirely new ones. First of all, as I mentioned before, no one should be forced to bow before anyone, not even me. I'm not superior to you in any way.
Secondly, no one will be forced to train for any kind of wars. Yes, training is required, but you start training when you reach thirteen years; only if you feel like it. No one holds the right to force you.
Thirdly, it had come to my attention that the schools were destroyed. I'm proud to tell you that my friend Stacey, with the help of our teachers and volunteers, have rebuilt the preschool and kindergarten, and it will officially open tomorrow, at eight in the morning. I would request all parents to send their young ones so they could get educated. I'll try my best to open a primary school in the coming months, so that all of the young dragons could study.
I would also like to request all of you to come forward with any complaints or suggestions that you might have on how I can make every life better here at the castle. You can come to me directly, or through my friends, Emeralda, Stacey, Dr Elise, and Martha. I have also put a 'C or S' marked bins almost everywhere, so dragons can complain or give their suggestions anonymously.
There will no longer be any competition between us; we are all dragons, regardless of our birth status or powers. We all contribute equally to the dragon community. I want us to do what we love.
If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask me," Trinity ended her speech, looking around for anyone who might want to ask her anything.
"Dragon Lady, I have a question," a man stepped forward, "I'm Rudolph, incharge of the kitchen. What time should the breakfast, lunch and supper be ready?"
"The time for our food will remain the same; unless you have a suggestion?" Trinity replied.
"Dragon Lady-" "Please call me Trinity. I will like it," Trinity said.
The old man looked a little uncomfortable, but did as he was told, "Trinity, I wanted to suggest breakfast start at nine in the morning, instead of eight," Rudolph said, head low.
"Well... does anyone have a problem with this time?" Trinity asked, looking around, as murmuring spread through the crowd.
"Well yeah! We do," three younger guys stepped up. "We all have breakfast at eight, and just because Rudolph is getting old and lazy, doesn't mean we get breakfast an hour late," the first one said, followed by "Yeah" from the other two.
Trinity nodded, then asked, "Does anyone else feel that way?" No one uttered a sound. "Then it's done, what are your name?" She asked the boys.
"I'm Evergreen, this is Bronzy and this is Michael."
"So Evergreen, Bronzy and Michael, will be incharge of breakfast, which will be at eight every single day. Rudolph will be incharge of lunch and dinner," Trinity continued, adding, "I want the kitchen to be cleaned up after breakfast, so that the... what did you say?... ah.. 'old and lazy' man doesn't have to clean up your mess."
The trio seemed shocked, and tried to protest. "But.. we don't know how to cook."
"Yeah, it's his job."
"It wasn't my idea."
"Maybe you didn't hear me clearly, so let me repeat what I said earlier, 'no one is superior to another'. Insulting someone is not permitted, and until you learn to respect everyone, you three are incharge of breakfast. No more arguments, unless you want to work under Rudolph preparing lunch and dinner as well!" Trinity said, looking at them intently.
All three of them mumbled something between themselves, but didn't dare say anything to the young woman standing on the stage giving orders.
"Good," Trinity said, adding, "Anymore questions."
"Yes, I have a request," a young girl replied. "Most of us have never been outside the castle walls. I would like to suggest we get out and see the world, since most of us are now orphaned, and don't really know what to do with our lives," she continued.
