Chapter 84 - Chapter 84 — Dragons’ Roar and Broken Shields

The sun rose over the scarred plains of Valyria, bathing the battlefield in a harsh golden light that revealed the cost of war—broken shields, shattered banners, and the scattered bodies of fallen warriors. The air was thick with the metallic scent of blood and the acrid smoke of smoldering siege engines.

Kaerys stood atop a ridge, her eyes scanning the vast expanse below where the rebel forces clashed against the Serpent's legions. The ground trembled beneath the thunder of hooves and the roar of dragons.

The Storm of Steel and Fire

Serenthis, the midnight-black dragon, tore through the sky, his wings creating gusts that swept away the dust and debris. Flames licked from his maw in fierce arcs, turning enemy formations into burning chaos. Beside him, Varys, the silver-blue dragon, weaved with icy precision, his breath freezing the earth and snapping enemy weapons like brittle twigs.

Kaerys raised her sword, the Valyrian Flameblade shimmering with fiery runes. "For Valyria!" she cried, leading the charge.

Steel met steel in a deafening clash. The rebel cavalry thundered forward, crashing into the Serpent's infantry like a tidal wave. Kaerys fought at the front lines, her blade a whirlwind of fire and death, each strike felling foes with brutal elegance.

The Dance of Dragons and Men

Above, the dragons battled—Serenthis locked in a deadly duel with a colossal, red-scaled beast, its roar shaking the heavens. The two titans collided in a storm of flame and claw, their cries echoing across the battlefield. Varys struck from the side, his icy breath lashing the red dragon's wings, tipping the balance.

On the ground, Kaerys faced a towering knight clad in blackened armor, his greatsword stained with the blood of countless battles. The duel was fierce and unrelenting—each blow met with parry or dodge, sparks flying with every contact.

"You wield fire," the knight growled, "but I am shadow."

Kaerys smiled grimly. "Then I am the flame that consumes shadow."

With a swift motion, she unleashed a searing burst of dragonfire magic, breaking his guard and sending him crashing to the ground.

The Tide Turns

As the sun climbed higher, the Serpent's forces faltered. The rebels, inspired by Kaerys's ferocity and the dragons' wrath, pushed forward relentlessly. The battlefield was a tempest of smoke, blood, and flame, but the fire of rebellion burned brighter.

Kaerys felt the surge of her Arcain system—the subtle shift in power, the momentum tipping irrevocably in their favor.

The war for Valyria was far from over, but the roar of dragons and the clash of steel echoed a promise: the age of the Serpent was ending, and the age of the Dragonborn had begun.
