There was this woman floating in front of me, glowing like a moon, with wings and sparkles and that calm-but-scary anime goddess look.
"Welcome, mortal," she said, voice all echoey and soft. "You have died. But fret not. You shall be reincarnated into a magical world, filled with danger and adventure—"
"Nope," I cut her off.
She blinked.
"…Excuse me?"
"I don't want that. No dragons. No demon lords. No chosen hero stuff. I just want… I dunno. A farm? Somewhere quiet?"
She just stared at me. Like she was trying to process the fact that someone said no to her grand isekai speech.
"…Fine," she said finally, sighing. "You will be sent to a peaceful countryside. You will have a farm. A simple life."
"That's all I want."
She mumbled something about "boring souls," then raised her hand and blasted me into a rainbow vortex without warning.
Next thing I know, I'm lying in the middle of a field.
Grass. Blue sky. Birds chirping. A wooden fence nearby. And chickens.
Lots of chickens.
They were just… staring at me.
I sat up slowly. My body felt normal. Kinda fit, actually. A little buffer than before. The farm looked like something out of a cozy RPG game. Cute house, vegetable garden, even a tiny stable.
Then I looked at one of the chickens again.
It was still staring at me.
Then it jumped.
Straight up. Like five feet in the air.
And it roundhouse kicked a boulder.
The rock exploded into gravel.
I blinked.
"…What."
Another chicken walked up and pecked the ground. A level-up sound played. No, I'm serious. Like, a literal ding noise in my head.
Then I saw a popup screen.

I turned around slowly. There was a hand-painted sign above the chicken coop. It read:
"Caution: These Chickens Are Not Normal."
Oh, great.
I walked toward the coop, trying not to make any sudden moves. One of the chickens followed me, making soft clucking sounds like it was judging me. I swear it nodded at me.
Then I saw another sign:
"Farm Owner: YOU"
