Chapter 1 - Prologue | Keep Dreaming Pervert

"Like hell I will!" I hissed.

Halfway sitting on the edge of my desk is a chestnut brown-haired guy with emerald-colored eyes. He gives me a huge grin, nearly blinding me with his straight pearly white teeth. Height wise he's six foot five, weighing who the hell knows what but judging by the defining muscles bunching under his fitted t-shirt, let's say for argument sake that he's healthy. He is my neighbor and personal enemy, Jacob Fillion.

I keep my stern gaze on him as people around us do what they do best, gossip at length. It's no wonder since I am the stereotypical nobody you hear about in all those teen comedies. Only I don't fancy falling into the trope of becoming a love interest to the second biggest jerk I know. His friend Malcolm Hanes takes the trophy but let's leave that matter for later.

"You owe it to me," Jacob states, his eyes full of mischief.

I know what he's referring to since I unconsciously look at the sling hanging over his shoulder, subject to be stuck in a cast for a minimum of eight weeks. He won't be doing any strenuous activities with a broken arm that's for sure. My eyes revert back to his face and snarled, "I'm not the dumbass who took what someone else said seriously."

His smile falters an inch. Checkmate bitch.

"The damage is done," He shifts himself uncomfortably off my desk to stand up. His shadow completely swallows me but even so, I was not going to have him back me into a corner. "Your parents already agreed that for the time being you should accompany me since I have trouble doing things."

"Aww" I feigned that I cared. "You broke the arm you jerk off with? Poor thing." My lips form a crude smile.

He mimics me, "Good thing I'm ambidextrous." Glancing over at me as I frown in disgust, he allows himself to laugh at my expense.

"You're disgusting," I say leaning back in my chair, creating some distance between us.

"Says the one who inadvertently offered to give me a handjob."

Touché.

Our gazes fixate on one another. His face wore the same expressionless look as my own which made it all that much harder to figure out what the other was thinking. As if on cue, the school bell rang and he broke eye contact first.

"See you in front of the school." He waves, heading toward the door to go to his next class.
