A Giant Monster's Memory

Badum... badum. A thumping sound. Rainar felt himself stepping forward. He opened his eyes.
"Groaaaaaar!"
["Huh?"]
He heard himself roar loudly, like a massive monster. Then he looked down, his eyes widening. He was surrounded by skyscrapers, and he was just as tall as they were.
["W-what is this... what's happening?" Rainar wondered.]
Rainar turned and saw a huge, dragon-like human monster beside him. The monster seemed to be holding its own face with its hands. The monster turned and looked at Rainar, then opened its mouth and pointed to the sky.
Blaaaam!
A huge explosion sounded near him. Rainar looked in the direction of the explosion, which was exactly where the giant monster beside him had pointed. He saw a black hole above them, surrounded by black, stormy clouds. From within, disgusting, enormous, tentacle-like creatures emerged, covered in fleshy bubbles.
He looked around. The entire city was burning, tall buildings were destroyed. On the streets, countless monsters—half-spider humans, fish-like humans with tentacles, and terrifying bat-like humans—were killing people who ran screaming in terror. When he looked at a glass-covered building,
["W-what? I-I'm a giant monster?" he thought, looking down and seeing himself reflected in the glass.]
"Groaaaaaaar!"
Unconsciously, he roared loudly because he couldn't speak, and of course, he saw his roaring reflection in the glass. Bang! Rainar took a step back, scared and confused. But tap, the monster beside him, which looked just like him and seemed to be female, held his hand and stared at him intently. She pointed again at the black, tentacled hole in the sky.
Rainar looked up again and saw many combat helicopters, fighter jets, stealth planes, and bombers attacking the massive tentacles. Besides that, he also saw several tanks, infantry, and combat vehicles passing by his feet, firing at the monsters on the streets that seemed to be born from those tentacles. Then suddenly,
"Skrieeeeeeeeek!"
A giant pterosaur-like monster flew past him, shooting lightning at the tentacles while circling the black hole. The planes weren't shooting at that giant monster; instead, they were helping by firing at the tentacles and seemed to be working together with the giant pterosaur-like monster.
Blaaaaar!
"Ugh... ugh... graaaaaaaaah!"
Suddenly, a giant gorilla-like monster with iron arms landed in front of Rainar and slammed the road with its two massive fists, destroying the line of crawling monsters in front of it. The ground forces stopped firing and built a barricade behind Rainar. He immediately looked around. In the distance, turtle-like and large lizard-like monsters also advanced on the other side towards the black hole.
Then, Rainar felt his head move to look at the female monster beside him and nodded. After that, Rainar felt his head move again to look straight ahead.
"Groaaaaaaaaaar!" Rainar and the monster beside him roared in unison.
Badum... badum... badum... badum...
They ran towards the enormous tentacle monsters descending from the sky in front of them. Rainar crashed into a tentacle, then pulled it until it broke. Then he leaped, pouncing on the still-moving tentacle and tearing at it with his claws, shredding the tentacle monster beneath him until it was in pieces.
"Groaaaaaaaar!" After that, he roared upwards.
He stood up again and ran towards the hundreds of tentacle monsters extending from the black hole in the sky, following the female monster in front of him who was annihilating the tentacles around her. Then Rainar felt himself beckon the female monster beside him to run towards the largest, most tower-like giant tentacle in front of them.
Once they reached the colossal, pulsating, tower-like tentacle descending from the sky, they both stood on different sides. Rainar felt his back grow hot; all the fins on his back glowed bright blue.
"Graaaaaaaaaah!"
Rainar felt something incredibly hot shoot from his mouth. He watched himself spew a massive blue laser beam towards the tentacle in front of him. He also saw the female monster across from him doing the same. They continuously pounded the huge tentacle with their beams.
"Uooooooong!" The huge tentacle lifted off the ground, hit by the blue beams from Rainar and the female monster across from him.
However, several other tentacles attacked the two monsters with black liquid shots and wrapped around their bodies. Rainar and the female monster fought the tentacles with their claws and didn't stop their laser blasts. Their bodies began to be injured by the tentacles' scraping thorns and sharp piercing tips. Both maintained their attacks until finally, the tentacles retreated back into the black hole.
After that, both directed their laser attacks directly at the black hole above them. The black hole above them began to spin and shrink, along with the stormy black clouds surrounding it. The monsters roaming the streets, the massive monsters destroying buildings and capturing humans, suddenly dried up and crumbled into dust on the streets like dry clay. Rainar and the injured female monster approached each other and embraced.
They saw that the city was saved, albeit in ruins. Both turned and walked towards the sea to leave after they were done. But as they were walking, "Swoooosh... blaaaaaaar!" a missile struck the back of the female monster beside him.
"Graaaaaaaoooo!" the female monster collapsed forward.
"Reidan... [Rainar's voice in his head: "Huh?"]," a terrifying male voice echoed in Rainar's head.
["Is that my voice? Who is Reidan? I... can talk?" Rainar wondered, confused.]
"Rai... gan," a terrifying female voice echoed in Rainar's head, seemingly calling him.
["Raigan... am I Raigan? And this monster next to me who got shot... Reidan?" Rainar thought.]
Rainar felt himself turn around. He saw many fighter jets, attack helicopters, missile and rocket tanks, artillery tanks, soldiers carrying bazookas and rocket launchers already behind them, ready to fire. Rainar turned back towards the sea and helped Reidan walk towards the sea, but "blaaaaar!" this time, Rainar's back was targeted.
"Damned humans... they're attacking us!" Raigan said.
["Huh?"]
"We have to go back to the sea, Raigan, otherwise we'll die!" Reidan said.
["Huh?"]
"Come on, Reidan!" Raigan said, ignoring the shots behind him and embracing Reidan as he walked.
["Huh?"]
But all the forces behind them fired at both, clearly intending to kill them. Raigan saw Reidan getting more and more injured by the shots. He became enraged and turned back.
"Groaaaaaaaaaar! (Why... why... we saved you, why?)"
Hearing Raigan roar loudly and turn around, the forces in front of Raigan fired all their weaponry even more intensely. Raigan's back emitted a bright blue light, and his head began to rise. "Graaaaaaah!" he immediately fired a blue laser beam at the human forces in front of him. Reidan stood up and pulled Raigan to stop, then they both walked towards the sea again.
"Noooood... noooood... noooood!" A loud alarm blared across the entire city. Both looked around. There was no one in the city, but they saw other monsters collapsing among the city's ruins. The forces behind them were destroyed by the blue laser beam. They both walked on again, but "bressss!" a huge white beam struck both their backs and passed through them. They looked down, and their bodies were pierced by the white beam. Rainar immediately felt an unbearable pain.
"Graaaaah!..."
Both roared loudly, and "badum!" they both fell, hitting the ground, making the entire city tremble. They no longer moved, their hands still clasped and embracing each other. Everything turned dark again.
"Huh... w-where am I?" Rainar asked, now he's in total darkness.
"Crack." The world seemed to crack, and then crash! the world collapsed like a broken mirror. "Whoaaaaaaa!" Rainar felt himself falling into darkness towards a point of light that grew larger and larger until he finally passed through it.
