Chapter 1 - Prologue

Sion. Don't fight, and you'll be safe.

What they said. It was all a lie. If I don't fight, I'll be safe? Hahahaha! Fool! So foolish!

Now look! I'm getting beaten to a pulp by these rich kids. Who's going to help me?!

"Why are you just standing there? Cry, you idiot!"

That rich kid kicked my face with his foot. And the others held me with their hands, making me unable to move.

"Look, guys. This poor, useless kid. Let's see how long he lasts... Hahahaha!"

I clearly heard all their laughter. Happy? They were so happy doing this to me. But if I did this to them, what then?

Oh, obviously! They'd use their parents' power; the ones with money always win. That's the reality.

But, if it's come to this. I don't care anymore.

I used my remaining strength to punch the person next to me. Making him feel pain in his face.

"Boss William! Help!"

"You! How dare you do that to my friend!"

And the same with the other one; both of them were bleeding from their noses.

"You'll get what's coming to you!"

That rich kid, who was called—William. He started attacking with his fists, which I managed to catch.

"William Yorda, right? I don't care anymore, even if I die here. At least I'll make you feel what I feel."

"What the hell are you! You think you can—"

Before he could finish his sentence, my fist landed on his face. He leaned against the wall, holding his face.

"My face! You! Just you wait!"

William tried to run. But he fell because his leg was pulled by his friend.

"Boss William! Don't leave us!"

"Stupid! Who cares about you guys, my life is what matters!"

Foolish, truly foolish. With that, there's no escape for you.

His two friends held him tightly, making William even more furious, trying to free his legs.

"Damn it! Let go of me!"

"If we get hurt, then you have to feel it too! This is your fault!"

I kicked William's face while he was still unable to move, as his legs were held.

"Keep going, Sion! You hit us hard, but he hasn't even bled yet!"

"Shut up, you idiot, after I'm done with him. Then, it's your turn."

Both of them fell silent, while I continued to punch William's face. This guy needed to be taught a lesson.

Punch after punch landed, bruising his face. The last punch was with all my might, which made him vomit fresh blood.

"Ugh!"

William stared at me sharply, anger visible on his face. "Sion! Just you watch, I won't forgive you!"

Hearing that made me want to laugh. "You? Want to fight me? Hahahaha! Too bad, you've lost that chance."

I stepped on William's leg, which was being held by his friends.

Crack!

"Ahhhhhhhk! It hurts! It hurts!"

His two friends released their grip and backed away with a little fear. The sound of his bone cracking was clear, and now William couldn't escape anymore.

"What's wrong, William? Are you scared?"

"You! Just you wait, you'll—"

Bugh!

A kick landed on his face. Making him silent, enduring the pain.

Ahhh, I'm bored.

I pulled William's leg.

"Hey! Wait! What are you doing!"

One... Two... Three!

Right after the count of three, I threw William's body out the window. Because at this moment, we were in a very tall building.

"DAMN IT!"

After a while of enjoying the bloody sight, I jumped down myself.

Hahaha! This is the end! I'm free, I don't regret it.

After that, everything went dark. I don't remember anything.

I felt a gentle breeze, a chill brushing against my skin. And I also felt grass swaying around me, tickling me as it touched my skin.

Slowly, I opened my eyes, seeing the sky covered by thick trees. I got up from where I was.

"Where is this," I said, looking around.

Full of trees. The atmosphere felt peaceful, only the wind blowing and the sound of leaves.

That calmness didn't last long; suddenly, a loud sound echoed, making me turn. Birds flew away, a sign that something was coming, something big, strong, and dangerous.

Seeing that monster, the first thing I thought was.

Dinosaur?

No, it only looked similar. This one was more like a monster with a T-rex-like body. I got up from my spot, trying to escape.

I ran away from the monster with all my might.

Huff... Huff... Huff...

After a while, I found a hiding place. A cave that was just big enough for me to enter. This cave was covered by trees, as if it had an owner who deliberately covered it.

Whatever it was, the most important thing was to save myself first.

I quickly entered the cave; it was dark inside. But something was shining. Is it... A stone? Or a diamond?

"No, no, there's no way there are diamonds here. But that monster earlier, what was it really?"

Just thinking about it made me shiver a bit, and right then something touched me from behind.

"Ahhhhhhhh!" I screamed, startled.

After looking back, oh, it was just a Slime. Eh... A Slime?

Monsters... Shiny stones, and Slimes. Could this be another world?

"My guess might be right, hey little Slime. What is this place... And what is that thing?"

"..."

No answer. Foolishly, I talked to a Slime. What was I thinking?

This Slime was hiding here too, it seemed it was also scared of that monster.

"Poor little Slime, you must be scared, right?" I said, stroking the Slime.

I spent a long time with that Slime. It didn't feel like we were getting closer. The time we spent didn't seem to be even a day, because the monster had already left, and we could finally go out.

The sky was orange, visible through the gaps in the trees. Signifying that it was late afternoon.

"Finally... My body aches."

I stretched my body, because sitting too long made my body a little stiff. And right then, my stomach growled.

Clearly, that was a sign that I was hungry.

I held my stomach, thinking about what I could eat. "Ugh, there's no food here."

The Slime then went to the bushes and picked some leaves to give to me.

"Eumm. Thank you, but I don't eat leaves."

I approached the Slime, a little puzzled. What should I call this Slime, I wonder.

"Hey. Little Slime, are you female or male?"

Eh, what kind of question was that, do Slimes even have gender?

"I'm female."

Hearing that voice, I was silent for a moment.

"Eh... Slimes can talk!"

"Quiet, I should be the surprised one here. I'm confused myself why I can talk."

This is so strange. What kind of world is this, really?

"Then... I'll call you Lise, how about that? I think it suits you."

"Not bad, I like it."

After finishing speaking, it jumped, its body filled with light, which then transformed into a human shape.

"How is it? Do I look beautiful?"

I was silent, unable to say anything.
