Chapter 40 - Chapter 40 – The Angel

The first headlines appeared on the European Continent.

@ EUROGAMES WEEKLY: "Mysterious Donation of 10 Million to Streamer Lisa: Community Speculates Donor's Identity"

The article reported that, at the height of an ordinary stream, Lisa, the young prodigy of Galáctico Sports, had her life turned upside down by an unexpected notification:

$10,000,000 transferred from an anonymous account with the message: "For the star that shines like Aphelios. Keep playing."

The reaction went viral on all platforms.

But what really made the topic explode was the discovery of encrypted data by benevolent hackers — yes, even digital Robin Hoods love some healthy gossip.

Soon, the media began connecting the dots.

"This same account made an identical donation months ago to a streamer named Keiko, also a prodigy in the female e-sports scene."

Conclusion?

@ GLOBO INFORME: "Confidential sources affirm: the donor is Luna Malroth — founder of the Malroth Philanthropic Foundation and cofounder of the Diamante Tycoon business empire!"

Within hours, newspapers worldwide were already in unison.

@ New World Times: "Billionaire woman secretly donates millions to rising young women. Internet celebrates Luna Malroth as an icon of the new generation."

@ Daily NeoAsia: "Sweet, silent and absurdly rich. Luna Malroth is crowned as an example of humility at the top of power."

@ Aurora Boreal: "The 'digital donations goddess' was discovered: Luna Malroth, who was already helping in secret, now supports female talents in the online competitive scene."

Social media? A chaos of adoration.

A viral comment on X said: "There are CEOs defaulting and Luna Malroth handing out 10 million like Easter chocolate. Where do I sign to become a fan?"

Another, more emotional: "Luna, if one day you want to destroy capitalism from the inside, count me in. I'll wash the dishes."

Lisa, seeing the buzz, posted a crying video and said. "I can't believe I was helped by HER… LUNA MALROTH. I promise to dedicate myself more. One day I want to thank her in person. And yes… I will win that MSI even if just for her!"

In schools, young girls began using stickers with Luna's face, now called "the symbol of global female blooming."

On podcasts and talk shows, philosophers and influencers discussed.

"Luna represents the new archetype of leadership of the 31st century. A silent, technological, generous leader with questionable musical taste — because, honestly, that K-pop of hers… anyway. Still: an icon."

In the middle of all this?

Luna, lying in light pink pajamas, mouth full of popcorn, watched her own worldwide commotion with a neutral expression. "Hmpf… exaggeration."

Ivy appeared in hologram, raising one eyebrow. "You basically changed the lives of two girls with what's pocket change to you."

"I just wanted them to play better. And carry me in ranked…" Luna muttered, before clicking on "find match" again.

— Phoenix Empire —

In one of the five interconnected colossi of Diamante Tycoon, Lumine was seated in her curved glass office with a panoramic view of the headquarters' suspended garden.

The room was minimalist and cold like the very name of the family, but her hands were warmed by work.

With her hair tied in an elegant bun and reading glasses with a frame, Lumine reviewed a stack of digital documents on collaborations with emerging companies, evaluating strategic acquisitions and supply contracts, when a notification appeared on the holographic intercom.

"CEO Lumine, global news is praising Lady Luna again. After the revelation of her anonymous donation, Lux sales have gone up by 9 million units in the last three hours."

Lumine raised her eyes, narrowed her gaze with slight surprise, and then placed the digital pen down with an audible click. "Impressive... Luna became a trend and still pulls sales by gravity. Hm."

Without hesitation, she tapped a button on the desk and contacted the supply director directly. "Order immediate acquisition of ingredients for the Lux formula. We have a remaining budget of five hundred million. Use it all. I want enough stock for double what we're selling."

"Understood, CEO Lumine."

The holographic call ended, and Lumine relaxed for a moment in her chair, sighing as she looked out the window.

Outside, drones transported sealed boxes with the company's seal to the other buildings — a silent choreography of progress.

At this pace, Diamante Tycoon would become the corporate meteor of the century.

She then opened the girls' WhatsApp group and typed:

@ Lumine: "We just used the last 500 million of the reserve. All allocated: half in production, half in marketing. We are officially at zero of the proposed operational budget for the LUX product."

Seconds later, audios started flying.

@ SmellOfRainAfterDust: "YESSS, NOW'S THE TIME! A real company is measured when there's no money in the vault and it can only rely on hype!"

@ Nikoly: "Who needs money when we've got a Supreme AI, a CEO with genius syndrome, and memes running through the multiverse?"

@ Victoria: "This calls for champagne! Good thing I have a break from global interviews, 'cause my jaw was locking from smiling like a princess too much."

But soon, Victoria changed tone. A new message appeared.

@ Victoria: "By the way, Lumine... your family is throwing a tantrum because little princess Edelweiss decided to build her own corporation instead of following the royal nobility script?"

Lumine let out a dry laugh and replied, still typing with meticulous elegance.

@ Lumine: "Mom was scandalized. Dad told me he was 'saddened by my revolutionary impulse'. But my older brother, Arthur, basically coerced them into accepting. He said if they didn't support my decision, he'd cut the Edelweiss empire's funds for five years."

@ Lumine: "Result: awkward family silence and a formal letter of support signed with blood, tears, and wounded pride."

The group exploded in stickers and laughing emojis.

But while everyone had fun, Victoria stared at the screen longer than usual.

Her fingers hovered over the keyboard.

A sting. A void.

She then typed silently.

@ Victoria: "You're lucky."

Silence for a few seconds.

And then, before anyone could respond, Victoria added:

@ Victoria: "My family discarded me like a stain on a white dress. Just because I didn't want to be used as a bargaining chip."

Lumine saw the message, stopped typing, and reflected. As practical as she was, she wasn't blind. The name "Lancaster" now only appeared in public records as if Victoria were a footnote — a renegade heiress.

Then Lumine replied with something she rarely did:

@ Lumine: "If they don't want you as a daughter, Victoria… Diamante Tycoon does. And we don't trade diamonds."

The other girls reacted instantly:

@ SmellOfRainAfterDust: "Amen."

@ Nikoly: "Here there's no crappy dad. There's work, sisterhood, and rooms with quantum air conditioning."

Victoria laughed. For real. For the first time in days, her smile wasn't for the cameras.

She grabbed her glass of squeezed juice and toasted alone, murmuring to herself. "Maybe… I've found my true family."

Sitting in her modern suite, surrounded by the light warmth of the Phoenix Empire sunset, Victoria Lancaster-Monroe – now just Victoria – looked into the mirror of her room.

But it wasn't the reflection that held her attention.

It was the woman who was finally there.

Her heart was calm. For the first time, in a long time.

Her eyes slowly lowered to her hands resting over crossed legs, and the memory knocked on her soul's door, soft as winter wind:

"Born as a princess of House Lancaster-Monroe… That surname was gold and steel. Shine and cage."

In childhood, she was her mother's darling, a woman with a sweet voice and gentle soul, who called her "my little sparkling jewel."

The father… well, he showed up once a year — on her birthday. Brought gifts, mechanical smiles, and a reminder that she was, above all, a piece on the noble chessboard.

At 10, cancer took her mother. And with her, all the color in the world.

The mansion got bigger. Colder.

The servants more distant.

The father... more absent than ever.

And then came the boarding school.

Rules, expectations, and discipline.

But it was there, at 13, during the vacation she decided to run away to Spain, that luck whispered for the first time.

She met two unique girls — a Japanese tech genius and a European heiress with a sharp mind and an even sharper tongue.

Nikoly and Lumine.

"Sisters without the same blood, but far more family than any Lancaster."

With them, the nights had laughter, the days had plans, and life… color.

With the years came the pressures: marriage with Liam, molded to ensure a business merger and strengthen two noble Houses.

It was logical. Practical. Empty.

Victoria hated every moment of the unsigned contract.

And hated even more how her father spoke of her as property.

But now…

At 24 years old, with tears washed by courage and the cold cut she made herself from the past, Victoria was free.

Free to breathe.

Free to choose.

Free to love.

And she loved.

Not by imposition, but by decision.

Kael.

A hurricane of ice, a mystery in formal suits and smiles that thawed even her oldest traumas.

Victoria smiled softly, picked up her iPhone, and typed, her heart dancing between the letters:

@ Victoria: "Hey, my polar prince. How are the frozen diplomacies of the Asian continent? Have you destroyed any minister yet with that look that silently judges people's wardrobes?"

Message sent.

She bit her lower lip, as if holding back a shy laugh.

Maybe the world was chaotic.

But in that instant, with a clean soul and freedom at her fingertips, Victoria was just a girl in love.

And that was exactly what she always wanted to be.
