Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: First Outdoor Stream — Lumiose Lunacy

When Joseph woke up the next morning, he had one goal: stop streaming in his pajamas.

Sure, the viewers loved the cozy estate tours and Tyrunt's accidental destruction, but the real world was where the big content waited. He needed to be out there — where trainers trained, Pokémon roamed free, and unexpected chaos lurked behind every corner.

And where better to test EeTvee's first outdoor stream than the bustling heart of Kalos: Lumiose City.

"Okay, Rotom, buddy, you good in there?"

Joseph leaned down and tapped his PokéGear. It buzzed and sparked, and Rotom's cheeky face appeared on screen, sticking out its ghostly tongue. Tyrunt bellowed behind him, eager to move.

They were standing at the front gate of his family's estate — Joseph in his new, definitely-streamer-ready outfit: a comfy hoodie, ripped jeans, and a cap turned backward for maximum 'cool factor.' Tyrunt wore a little bandana around his neck that said "BITE ME" in bright letters.

"Okay! Everyone ready?" Joseph clapped his hands, trying to hype himself up. "First ever outdoor EeTvee stream. Tyrunt, you'll be my enforcer. Rotom, you're my floating cameraman/editor/prankster. No electrocutions, okay?"

Rotom made a sarcastic "ROO-TOM!" sound and threw up a ghostly thumbs-up.

Joseph checked his PokéGear one more time. He could already see the view counter ticking up. Fifteen viewers. Twenty. Thirty. Not bad for a spontaneous outdoor debut.

Lumiose City hit him like a brick wall of sound.

Taxis zoomed by. Holo Caster ads blared catchy tunes. Trainers argued over which crepe stand was better. Joseph half-expected Tyrunt to start chewing on the fancy lamp posts.

He found a quiet-ish spot by the big fountain in North Boulevard and gave Rotom the signal. The feed went live. He watched the comments roll in.

[Chat]

"He really brought a fossil to Lumiose?"

"Tyrunt looks hungry…should I be scared?"

"Pls eat the fountain lol."

Joseph grinned. "Alright, EeTvee fam! It's your boy, Joseph! We're live in Lumiose — Tyrunt, say hi!"

Tyrunt barked and immediately tried to climb into the fountain. Joseph grabbed his tail just in time.

"NO WATER. We are NOT shorting out Rotom on day one."

Rotom zoomed around his head, adding goofy stickers — a halo over Joseph's cap, devil horns on Tyrunt. Joseph noticed people slowing down to stare. Some whispered. A few kids waved at the camera and giggled when Rotom slapped 'CELEBRITY SIGHTING' across their faces.

It felt…good. Like the city itself was a stage.

Ten minutes in, he spotted a street battle happening nearby. Two trainers, maybe ten or eleven years old, squared off in the middle of the plaza. A Froakie versus a Fletchling. Nothing fancy — but it was perfect content.

Joseph gave Tyrunt a nudge. "Wanna watch a battle, big guy?"

Tyrunt roared — which startled the Froakie, who nearly fell into the fountain. Joseph hurried over, waving the PokéGear. Rotom spun around them, filming from every angle.

"Yo! Mind if we stream this?" he asked the kids.

They exchanged a wide-eyed look, then nodded. "Are you that EeTvee guy? The one with the dinosaur?"

Joseph puffed up proudly. "That's me! Tyrunt's the star. I'm just the snack supplier."

[Chat]

"Lol they recognized him!"

"Those kids look terrified."

"Tyrunt wants to eat the Froakie."

The battle lasted all of two minutes. Fletchling dive-bombed, Froakie countered with a Water Pulse, and the Froakie won by a hair. Tyrunt was so into it he kept hopping from foot to foot, nearly knocking Joseph over every time he roared in excitement.

Rotom made it even better. Each time Fletchling missed, Rotom rewound the footage with a giant "WHIFF" sticker. When Froakie landed the final hit, Rotom added an explosion graphic and fake crowd cheers. Joseph nearly dropped the PokéGear laughing.

The chat exploded:

"BEST CAMERAMAN EVER."

"Who edits this in real time???"

"This is way more fun than watching the League broadcast lol."

When the battle ended, the kids thanked him. Joseph asked if they wanted to shout out anything. The younger one stuck his face right up to the camera. "FOLLOW ME ON EETVEE! I'm gonna beat the Lumiose Gym someday!"

Joseph gave him a high five. The chat went wild.

By the time they left the plaza, the viewer count hovered around a hundred and fifty. Joseph's hands were sweating. He'd never felt so alive — a weird rush of adrenaline, like he'd just run a marathon and won.

He and Tyrunt celebrated by hitting a crepe stand. Rotom buzzed around them, filming Tyrunt trying (and failing) to eat a chocolate crepe without getting half of it stuck to his snout.

"Buddy, you're gonna need a napkin for your whole face," Joseph laughed, wiping chocolate off Tyrunt's horn.

A few people approached shyly, phones out. "Are you streaming? Is it live right now?"

Joseph's heart did a backflip. "Yeah! Say hi!" He turned the PokéGear around. Rotom immediately added confetti and a neon 'NEW FANS!' banner.

An hour later, they found themselves in front of the Lumiose Gym — Prism Tower looming above them like a beacon of 'real trainer' status. Joseph stared up at it, Tyrunt at his side, crepe crumbs all over the sidewalk.

He knew he wasn't ready yet — not for a real Gym battle, anyway. Tyrunt was strong, but they still needed training. And Rotom was still new to the team. Plus, he hadn't even caught a third Pokémon yet. But standing there, camera buzzing, chat rolling with "When's the first badge??" made something inside him snap into focus.

He'd get there. Slowly. On his own terms. With the streams capturing every silly step.

Back at the estate that evening, Joseph checked his stats. The plaza battle highlight was already clipping its way around the platform — Rotom, of course, was editing like a maniac, adding fart sounds and sparkles where appropriate.

He flopped onto the couch, exhausted but buzzing.

"Not bad for day one outside, huh?" he asked Tyrunt, who was happily chewing on a leftover crepe wrapper.

Rotom flickered into the screen and threw up a '1000/10' rating sticker.

Joseph laughed. "Good work, you two. Let's keep going. EeTvee is gonna be everywhere, just you wait."

Outside the window, Lumiose's neon lights glittered in the distance — a city full of trainers, battles, stories, and goofy moments just waiting to be streamed.

And Joseph, the weird new 'streamer kid with the chompy dinosaur and the prank ghost,' was ready to show them all.
