When Ash heard the newest notifications, he was extremely happy because with these points, he could definitely upgrade his rank a few more times.
"Why don't you kill them thoroughly so that there won't be any chance for future trouble?" Aetherion asked Ash with a gentle smile as he approached him casually.
"I have my own reasons, and I'm not afraid of trouble." Ash chuckled and waved his hands nonchalantly.
Aetherion nodded a few times while maintaining his smile and didn't ask any further.
Screams could be heard as they varied from asking for help, begging for forgiveness, or even cursing Li Jian left and right before the screams calmed down one by one.
A few minutes later…
Ash received countless notifications that made him quite annoyed, as it was too much.
After he stopped hearing the notifications, Ash immediately ordered the system to upgrade his rank again.

"Yes!" Ash confirmed.

As the notifications rang in his mind, Ash felt his strength had grown stronger multiple times.
But then, he suddenly had an idea out of nowhere.
'What if I just let Li Jian kill those who are extremely strong? Won't I get more system points and could become stronger faster at that time?'
Ash thought to himself when he realized that even though he was progressing at an extremely fast rate, he still felt a little bit disappointed as he grasped the fact that killing ants won't be enough to fill the gaps between his teeth.
"Aeth, why don't we just kill our way to those top factions and kill their strongest person?" Ash asked with a smile.
Aetherion laughed. "If you fancy becoming a public enemy, be my guest."
Ash rolled his eyes when he heard his teasing and said in annoyance. "I mean not literally. But like, we're going to find a suitable faction that has a bad reputation after doing some terrible things."
"Do you really want to accelerate your progress?" Aetherion raised his eyebrow.
"Of course, who in their right minds doesn't want to become stronger faster?" Ash replied.
"I know where you are coming from, but you need to adjust your strength first, you know." Aetherion smiled, then tapped his feet on the ground as he continued.
"Let's say there are two people with the same strength, and one of them only uses bare hands but is extremely skilled as they know how to fight and have fought countless times, while the other one has never fought but has a knife as his weapon. Which one do you think would win if they were to fight to the death?"
Ash put his fingers on his chin and thought about it for a moment before replying.
"Most likely going to be the one who's extremely skilled and has fought countless times. Though I'd say that the other guy who has a knife would still have a chance to win, but the chance would be extremely low."
"You're half correct…" Aetherion smiled, then continued while shaking his head. "Because the one who has never fought but has a knife on him would never be able to win."
Before Ash could respond, Aetherion explained. "In the case of fighting to the death, the one who's extremely skilled would at most be injured but still end up killing the other guy. Either he would get stabbed, or his hand would be pierced through by the knife, or he might not even get injured at all."
Ash nodded his head in realization and tilted his head to the left when he noticed that Li Jian had just appeared with a smile.
"My Lord, the task is complete." Li Jian reported with a bow, then scratched his head apologetically as he continued. "However, the dead bodies inside have become quite problematic since there are too many. Why don't we let—"
"Done." Aetherion's casual wave ended the suggestion.
"But the stench is still going to be pungent since there is fresh blood everywhere." Aetherion said, then walked slowly toward the residence and continued. "Get used to it, you need to adapt yourself to this kind of situation."
After Aetherion walked quite far away, Ash asked Li Jian. "Let's say if you were to fight against him, who would win?"
"It's hard to say, My Lord." Li Jian smiled bitterly, then shook his head as he explained the reason. "Because he masters the space power, and I don't know why, but I always felt that he's unfathomable."
"Forget it then." Ash waved his hand, then started catching up with Aetherion.
When Ash arrived in front of the gate, he smelled a really strong stench of blood that he felt was quite unpleasant, even though he had already gotten used to smelling them in his past life.
Although it seemed that a huge battle had happened here, no buildings were damaged at all besides being tainted with blood everywhere.
As he walked deeper, the smell grew stronger, but Ash kept going deeper because Aetherion said that the treasury was located inside the main hall.
"Did you kill them all by severing their heads?" Ash asked as he noticed that there were broken weapons everywhere.
He guessed that Li Jian must have used force to decapitate their heads since the broken weapons must have been used to defend themselves.
Not only that, even though there was blood everywhere, it was mostly concentrated at one point, meaning that it must have been from the blood flowing out of the neck or head.
"You're right, My Lord." Li Jian nodded his head and explained. "The fastest and easiest way to kill people is to sever their head."
