Raven went beyond expectation and refited two rovers each fitting 7 extra people plus the driver. Until all of our stuff is in the mountains, both rovers will be used to transport our things. Once all our stuff is here both rovers will be used to transport our people as it's a four-hour walk to Mount Sienna but a 30-minute drive. It was a pity I couldn't be in two places at once, but with Bellamy holding fort at camp, I focused my efforts from Mount Sienna.
only raven and octavia know how to drive, so they will stay as drivers while my team of 14 who i got raven and octavia to drop off first thing this morning to help me reorganise inside. A team of 7 is taking all unnessary decoration and putting them into storage including paintings off walls, side tables and chairs, any statues, decorative weapons, picture frames, ect. Simultaneously, another team methodically sifted through every room, gathering the personal effects left behind by the deceased individuals, carefully stowing them away for safekeeping.
I never realised how much stuff we all had collected until I was halfway through unpacking the sixth rover load and Ravens said we still had at least 4 more trips to do, not to mention they still had to bring all our people home too. I radioed Bellamy, and we paused for lunch. Today's meal felt different. Usually a communal affair involving 120 people, we were now only a group of 15, evoking a sense of melancholy and solitude.
Upon resuming our work post-lunch, both rovers swiftly returned within half an hour.
Raven's voice cut through the bustling activity, a note of caution underlining her words. "This rover is carrying medical supplies. Clarke stressed the importance of handling them with care. The other one is filled with gifts from Heda, minus any weapons."
Charlotte's gaze found mine, a silent understanding passing between us as she affirmed, "My team will assist with the medical supplies." Determination etched on her features, they quickly sprang into action, efficiently unloading the rover under Raven's watchful eye.
As I surveyed the scene, a sense of responsibility weighed heavily on my shoulders. "Time to get to work," I declared, leading the way with to level 3. Charlotte's team, having seamlessly transitioned from emptying rooms of personal items to handling medical supplies, followed in my footsteps, their movements synchronized and purposeful.
Once in the hospital everyone holding medical supplies stood around me, "how do you want things organised, orella" ones of the girls asks her tone carrying a hint of hesitation.
"You know how meticulous Clarke can be. Let's make sure everything is arranged just the way she likes it. follow charlotte's lead" i say, The team nodded in understanding, aware of the unspoken expectations and standards set by their healer, following charlotte suggestions we finish up in medical quickly
Excitedly, we rode the elevator together, rising to level 0. As we walk through the echoing halls towards the open pristine metal bunker door, the bright sunlight streamed in, illuminating the scene beyond. The first team is hard at work unloading Raven's last load of our belongings.
When Octavia shows up the teams work together to get the last items inside, "do you want to come back with me now so you can ride Selene back"
"that's a good idea, it's about an hour and a half if I push her, two hours if I don't, better have all three horses ridden back together" Octavia nods and drives me back with her
At camp, Lilly has prepped all three horses for the trip, Lilly's eyes pleaded with me as she asked, "Can I ride with you, please?"
I smiled at her eagerness but cautioned, "You can ride with me, but remember, it's going to be a fast journey. Hold on tight."
Her face lit up with excitement, and she dashed off to prepare, her enthusiasm infectious as she anticipated the upcoming adventure.
"Diggs, you've been practising riding right, how good would you say you are," he says good enough to ride with someone else but not too fast or anything advanced like using weapons
"get ready, you Octavia, wells, miller and I are riding the horses to Mount Sienna" he nods and goes off to get ready, Lilly comes bouncing back big smile on her face
"I'm ready to go" She's got her winter boots, coat and gloves on with her sword attached to her hip
"good, but we need to wait for Octavia, Diggs, wells and Miller" Her smile loses some of its brightness but stands at my side looking into the camp arms crossed and tapping her foot, a mini Octavia If I ever saw one
The six of us mount up and start the journey to Mount Sienna, Raven had been training Monty to drive as he helped her retrofit the second rover so he swapped with Octavia allowing her to ride her horse, helios with Diggs and me.
After a grueling thirteen hours of hard labor, sweating and toiling together, we finally completed the monumental task of transferring all our belongings into Mount Sienna. The 120 of us all gathered in the mess hall, with Bellamy to my right and Octavia to my left, I raise my glass
"I know everyone is hungry but I feel the need to make a quick speech, I want to thank each and every one of you for your hard work together, we have found a forever home in and around this mountain and while living within Mount sienna is temporary, we know this is a place we can always come back too if ever needed, I just want everyone to take a second and look around you, these people aren't just your clanmates, these people are your family and while our family may grow in time, remember it was you who laid the foundation. Welcome home everyone and please enjoy your dinner" everyone cheers around me as I look around, I have great plans for my new family and I know we will get to do them together.
