The sound of approaching footsteps made me lift my head. Nathaniel was striding through the courtyard with purpose, his eyes immediately finding mine. Behind him was Liam, looking like he'd rather be anywhere else.
My pulse quickened at the sight of Nathaniel. His usual perfect composure was slightly rumpled—tie loosened, hair windswept—making him look dangerously attractive. I realized I was still standing amid a sea of groaning security guards I'd just taken down.
"What happened here?" Nathaniel's voice was controlled, but I could hear the edge underneath.
Before I could answer, Imogen rushed forward, her face twisted in exaggerated distress. "Oh, Nathaniel! Thank God you're here! She went completely insane!" She pointed a trembling finger at me. "She attacked everyone without provocation! Look what she did!"
Beside her, Delilah nodded vigorously. "It was terrifying. The girl is clearly unstable."
