Chapter 4 - CHAPTER 4 DANTE

"Let's go" I said to my chauffeur after getting into the car.

Before heading to my so–called fiancées house, I got a call— apparently one of my shipments had been hijacked.

I had no idea how someone got a wind of my goods or what gave them the audacity to even attempt hijacking it. But they did and they succeeded.

Whoever that person is... they're about to find about why I'm called THE DEVIL.

First, I will deal with whoever leaked the information. I take pride in my secrecy no one ever knows what I'm doing how, when, or with who.

That's why I always choose my people carefully. But in this line of work, there will always be those who will try to be clever.

"Here is his information sir" when I heard who spoke I turned. I was so lost in my thoughts I didn't even realise Rizzo was here.

Rizzo Santos age 22 my second–in–command and the only one I really trusted he started working for me 8 years ago at the age of 14.

He was also one of the victims of the family my Papà brutally killed.

I can still remember that faithful night he came over to my room. God knows how he entered or how he wasn't spotted. Back then I was 17 and still trying to figure out how to run my Papà empire after he died.

He stood right there armed with a gun, trembling but unable to pull the trigger. He just stood there crying whilst threatening me not to move.

I didn't.

I stood and waited until he had vented out all he wanted to vent out before approaching him and giving out the proposition for him to work for me as my second–In–command.

I knew it was wrong but I saw potential in him and it would be a waste if I didn't at least try to recruit him. What I didn't expect was that he would agree. When I asked him why he just replied

"Your not like your Papà" I was just stunned for a while. Then i laughed. That was my first true laugh in a very long time. Well at least somebody finally saw that. I didn't want to be compared with that man. Having his blood run through my viens was already an Insult but being compared to him that was another thing.

That was the beginning. We don't talk about that night anymore. We don't talk about his family either. But every year, I send flowers on the anniversary of thier deaths.

I don't blame him for keeping quiet. Even though I had nothing to do with what happened it didn't change the fact that my Papà did.

"What does it say?" I asked I didn't see the point in reading it myself.

"Alessandro Marco 23 years. Apparently he used to work for the Carrington" he said and paused looking at me I just frowned a little before telling him to continue.

Who would have thought the said traitor used to work for my fiancées father that was really unexpected.

"But now he works for the COSA NOSTRA I'm guessing they sent him to infiltrate us to get information they are also the ones who would have hijacked your goods" he ended waiting for me to speak.

So this said Alessandro was sent by the COSA'S why didn't I think of that they have really been acting all high and mighty after managing to deal with the VEGA family I think its about time I reminded them who owns this place.

"Your meeting with the Carringtons how was it?" I turned to face him again at his question before turning my focus back to the view outside. That was his own way of asking "Do you like you Betrothed?"

"She was okay" I replied smirking a little.

"I see, so you like her" he replied making me face him abruptly. I know that look.

"I did not say that I just said she was okay. Also if you give me that look again... I don't have to tell you what I'll do " I replied smiling sweetly. He just awkwardly laughed and hastily turned wisely choosing not to say anything again. Good choice.

Lillith Carrington, she was definitely intriguing. Now that I think about it she should be around the same age as Rizzo.

When I saw the letter left by my dad about my so called betroth I was beyond dumbfounded not only did he leave a business that I had to risk my life everyday for he was now also leaving a wife for me how was I supposed to feel.

But after meeting her today I'm starting to think it will not be that bad she still had to perform some rites and training before the wedding set for next week.

She was good looking no doubt. But what caught my attention was how hard she tried to hide her expressions. She was visibly turned between wanting to kill me and wanting to devour me.

She hid it well. But I noticed. In my line of work not being able to read people is a fatal weakness.
