Chapter 1 - chapter one

The town of Bantayan, nestled on the picturesque island of Bantayan, an island known for its serene beaches, crystal clear waters, and warm hospitality. It was a place where everyone knew each other, and crime was a rarity. But on that fateful morning, the peacefulness of the town was shattered.

At around 6:00 a.m., a group of students on their way to school stumbled upon a gruesome sight at the town plaza. Beside the statue of Jose Rizal, a young teenage girl lay on the ground, her body contorted in an unnatural position. Her legs and arms were bound behind her back with a thin, nylon rope, and her clothes were torn and disheveled.

The girl's face was a mess of blood and bruises, with her eyes being the most disturbing feature. The skin on her eyeslids had been deliberately cut away, leaving her unable to close them. The wound was deep and jagged, with a small pool of blood collecting in the socket.

The students who discovered the body were shocked and traumatized. They stumbled backward, screaming and crying, as the reality of what they were seeing sunk in. One of the students, a boy named James, immediately ran to the nearby police station to report the incident.

The police arrived at the scene within minutes, led by Sgt Alvaro Morales, a seasoned investigator with over a decade of experience. Sgt. Morales's team began to process the scene, collecting evidence and taking statements from witnesses.

As they worked, they noticed that the girl's underwear was partly withdrawn, suggesting that she had been raped. The police also found a small piece of torn fabric caught in the rope that bound her hands. The fabric appeared to come from a black t-shirt.

The police were baffled by the brutality and savagery of the crime. They couldn't understand why someone would commit such a heinous act in a peaceful town like Bantayan. As they continued to investigate, they discovered that the victim was a 15-year-old student at the nearby high school just beside the town church. She had been reported missing by her parents the night before, after she failed to return home from school.

The police interviewed students and teachers at the high school, but no one seemed to have any information about the victim's final hours. The police also reviewed the town's CCTV footage, but it didn't show anything suspicious.

As the days passed, the town of Bantayan was gripped by fear and uncertainty. The police were under pressure to solve the case, but they were struggling to find any leads. It wasn't until later, when another body were discovered in the town's pier waiting shed with the same feature found in the plaza, that the police realized they were dealing with a serial killer.

But for now, the people of Bantayan could only mourn the loss of a these young lives, and wonder what kind of monster could commit such a heinous crime. The peacefulness of the town had been shattered, and nothing would ever be the same again.

The police investigation continued, with Sgt. Alvaro Morales and his team working tirelessly to find any lead that could bring them closer to the killer. They knew that time was of the essence, and that every minute counted in a case like this.

As the sun set over the town of Bantayan, the people gathered at the town plaza, lighting candles and saying prayers for the victims and their family. The town was in mourning, and the people were determined to find justice for the young girls who had been taken from them.
