Chapter 9 - Skeleton Monsters [2]

It moves faster than expected and targets weak points with eerie precision.

Drahon had that in mind as he dived right into the middle of the fight. He didn't come off his dragon though, as that would be very risky, but then, he wondered why the others did. By that act, they were putting themselves in more danger.

Two Skeleton Monsters had already been killed by just the roar of dark fire from the Demon Dragon.

Drahon was still impressed. He had never seen dark fire before, and seeing one now, it looked cool.

Just then, a large Skeleton Monster almost plummeted on him. He swiftly swerved his dragon to the right by touching it on the neck.

The Skeleton Monster that was falling wasn't coming to attack him though. Instead, it had fallen because it had been hit by the Demon Dragon rider.

It seemed the rider's sword must be really good, as it did the task very proficiently. By proficiently, the bones all fell to the ground, the spines, the neck bone, the ribs, everything!

Drahon gripped his sword tightly and stared at the Demon Rider yet again. He must have used some sword technique, because Drahon saw him mutter some words before performing the slash.

A few minutes into the game and bro was literally like a god. He was clearly the most powerful player, and to Drahon, he should be disappointed, you know.

He had a higher-ranked dragon and was even at Tier SSS, yet he had never really done something special.

Perhaps the Demon Rider was also ranked SSS, or had he broken into the unknown? The locked Tier with the triple (???)?

Maybe he would ask him later, right now, he had to fight this mass of Skeleton Monsters.

Drahon didn't know how to make his dragon roar fire from its mouth, and since there were no ropes, he couldn't control the creature by steering.

He had been watching the Demon Rider though. All he had to do was tap on the dragon, either by its head or neck, and it reacted by doing something.

He decided to try it.

Players with Winterers fighting the sword monsters had killed about seven. They were fighting with sense now; all of them, including players with Bronzer and Winterers, were on their dragons as they fought. They no longer took the risk of fighting with their feet on the ground.

If they had earlier concluded on doing that, then perhaps the players who died wouldn't have died.

It could be because they had no idea that there were Skeleton Monsters here in the first place.

Drahon swerved his dragon to the right by his hands as it rolled in circles around a monolithic-looking Skeleton Monster.

He still had a lot to learn concerning his mount. He still had to learn commands and maybe get a rope he would be using to control the creature.

Rolling in circles around the Skeleton Monster, the monster followed, trying to grab him, and out of impulse, Drahon said into his dragon's ear:

"Fire!"

A gust of flame roared from the mouth of the dragon. It felt like a ferocious explosion dented the air, and coming at the Skeleton Monster, it melted it instantly, the body made of gold cremating to ashes.

Drahon, still surprised by how cool the flames had just melted a Skeleton Monster as large as that, watched as a Winterer Dragon just opposite him roared fire from its mouth right upon a Skeleton Monster.

The Skeleton Monster froze, and the Demon Dragon blasted out dark fire from its mouth, turning a monster's body to dark ash.

"Let's finish these foul beasts!" the Demon Dragon rider said.

The other players, including Drahon, agreed with a nod. Drahon noted that the player had a British accent, and he found it really pleasant to the ears, mainly because of how it was voiced.

They all raised their swords in the air, ready to slay and burn these beasts to the ground.

Drahon (yet again) noticed that the Demon Dragon rider was looking at his dragon. Seemed he was impressed with the roar. Drahon too was impressed, and he decided that perhaps he would have a little bit of faith in his dragon.

His dragon was great.

The Skeleton Monsters started to move with impressive pace, and Drahon wasn't surprised, he had anticipated this.

He clearly remembered the words from the profile:

[It moves faster than expected and targets weak points with eerie precision.]

Drahon swerved his dragon to the left, dodging an attack, and he decided to use his rank F sword. For some reason, he stopped, summoning the sword away.

The Demon Dragon rider, who was starting to show some signs of friendliness (he wasn't so sure about that though), flew closer to him and said:

"Why summon the sword away?"

Drahon shrugged.

"I won't be using it."

The boy made a face.

Drahon dashed forward with his dragon. The dragon had a lot of skills, so why use a lowly sword to defeat some bunch of Skeleton Monsters when you could do so easily with your dragons?

So what skill should he use? He decided to check the system's profile:

---

[Active Skills]

• Fire Breath (Tier A) – Unleashes a blazing cone of fire that melts armor and causes burn damage over time.

• Blazing Wingbeat (Tier B) – Flaps wings to release a fiery shockwave, knocking back enemies and igniting the area.

• Draconic Roar (Tier B) – Emits a terrifying roar that lowers enemy morale and temporarily boosts your physical stats

---

So the bone-melting roar was the Fire Breath? Well, it was to be expected, as it was in the description that the skill was capable of melting armor and inflicting burn damage over time.

Drahon smiled, a grin, actually.

What skill should he use? he thought.

The Blazing Wingbeat should do it. It should be good for taking down a lot of these Skeleton Monsters quickly, as they didn't have any more time.

The other players were doing great, by the way. Even the Bronzers. The Ploxers were struggling, as they weren't really killing any of the monsters alone. Instead, they formed a group, around six in one, and together, after many grunts and groans, sent a monster to the ground and by all means avoided being caught by one.

It was Drahon's turn to do something really exceptional. All he did now was whisper in the ear of his SSS-ranked Fire Dragon (emphasis on that), the words:

[Blazing Wingbeat]
