Cherreads

Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

Kyle's POV

Those golden eyes confirmed that not only was he a werewolf but he was an alpha. I felt my heartbeat race, as my wolf purred within me. It's been years since I shifted last. Honestly, I even forgot I am a werewolf if it weren't for little perks.

I cannot believe of all the people I had a destined mate. The chances of having that is extremely low, and yet… Damn it! Even before Adrian walked in I knew he was my mate. I, a married man, is supposed to be with someone else, that too my step-brother in law. I can feel the moon goddess laughing at me already.

I tried my level best to ignore Adrian as much as I could. I was shocked he was not jumping up and down already. As far as my knowledge goes about alphas, they are ruthless. In fact I swore I saw him clench his fists when Hannah called me babe. Maybe there's a chance of rejection after all. I mean, I was already taken right?

Not to mention, my introduction caused him to almost shift. Keyword? Almost. I think I saw one of his buttons rip through his shirt when I heard a sharp voice, "Adrian!" It was Charlie.

Thinking back, wasn't Charlie a werewolf too? Given how it brought back Adrian and that he was supposed to be his father, didn't that technically mean Charlie was a former Alpha too? How come I couldn't smell anything on him? have my werewolf senses faded this much?

"I'll get the pie ready". I spoke up, as the silence around the room got incredibly uncomfortable. I ran to the kitchen and leaned against the door as I closed it. I breathed trying to calm myself and my wolf down. It was a miracle that I appeared this composed when all I wanted to do was tear apart everything and shift.

Before I could regain my composure, my back shifted as the door opened against me. "What… what are you doing here?" I asked Adrian who managed to make his way to my kitchen.

He didn't reply. He just stared at me as he came closer. I took a few steps back until my butt hit the kitchen platform. "Adrian!" I tried. Of course my voice wasn't as stern as Charlie's. In fact, I could sense my inner omega submit to his alpha pheromones and every bit of resistance that I showed became a challenge to me. I never thought this mate bond would ever screw me up.

"You feel it too, don't you?" He mumbled, dangerously low as if a little louder and he would be heard from outside. And yet, I could hear him perfectly.

"What?" I cleared my throat and tried to feign ignorance. He leaned against me, trapping me against the kitchen platform as he brought his nose close to the nape of my neck. "Adrian?" I attempted to call him out, but it came out as a purr. Damn it, why am I inviting him in?

He leaned back, "you're not human" he noted, grinning year to year. It seemed like he was relieved. "Aren't you one of a kind." I gulped.

I knew what he meant. Male omegas were not only rare, but somehow also in high demand. Most omegas irrespective of genders were highly sought out by alphas. According to the legend, the perfect pair. But male omegas were so rare that there was a time when wolves would kill each other to claim him as their mate.

"Let me go," I said weakly. Why was I begging? I am not much weaker than him. Sure, he was an alpha, but I worked out enough to at least push one off me.

"No." He said flatly. He leaned closer.

"Let me go!" I tried harder this time. "I am taken, just reject me already!" I blurted, as I closed my eyes shut trying to push him away

"Is that so? Are you sure you want me to reject you?" Adrian said in a low seductive voice as his nose touched mine. That caused me to open my eyes in a jolt and before I could do anything else I was trapped by the depth in those deep dark, almost black eyes.

He leaned closer, and yet held back, teasing me as he worked on my reaction. I knew better, and yet I found myself powerless to resist. I could feel his breath on my lips and a mix of cherry and turkey. I didn't cook anything with cherry, but that's exactly how he smelled like.

I had the most amazing wife sitting outside in the dining room and yet I could feel myself leaning in dangerously close, as if despite everything I ate, I was still hungry. That all I craved at this moment were his lips on mine.

I don't know what came over me, but I closed the last remaining inches and trapped his lips with mine. He kissed me back, immediately sucking on my bottom lips as he tried gaining access to my tongue. I gave in when he gently nibbled.

I have missed many times before, hell before today I was sure I have had the perfect kiss, but right now, what I felt, how I felt was beyond anything. As if his lips were made of scotch and I was addicted for eternity. Our tongues intertwined, and I found my hands reaching hisbfave, bringing him closer while also brushing his smooth hair in the process.

"Kyle?" Hannah's voice followed by a knock on the door brought me back to reality and within a second I found all my strength and pushed Adrian away. His back hit the wall and he fell right next to the door with an audible thud.

Undoubtedly, Hannah heard it and asked, "hey what are you doing? Kyle you alright?" I didn't know what to say. Sure, I have kept things from her, but I have never lied to her face to this day. Hell, just a bare minute ago I cheated on her.

Adrian on the other hand was smirking. He got up and opened the door, "I think I ended up locking the door," he excused himself.

"I heard something," Hannah looked at me concerned.

"Oh, I just tripped on some turkey grease." Adrian shrugged. "Your husband is a bit sloppy." He added, pressing on the word husband. Rage washed over me as I bent the fork I was holding in my left hand. I must have picked it up absentmindedly.

"Well, since I am here, how about I take some of the pies out." He added with the most genuine smile I have ever seen, which I knew for a fact was fake and walked out of the room.

Hannah's gaze followed Adrian before she looked at me, "What was that all about?" She could tell that something was wrong.

"Why did you send him here?" I retorted back, almost accusingly.

She was taken aback by my tone but ignored it nonetheless, "He came here looking for a bathroom." He informed me. "Sweetheart what's going on? Your hair looks messed up. Did he threaten you or something?" He asked me with genuine concern. "Call me crazy, but I don't trust that guy."

Yeah, me neither. I took a deep breath before said, "It's nothing, I was just surprised he was here. You know I don't like anyone in my kitchen." I lied to my wife.
