A meteor shower strikes the planet giving people abilities, the world is currently trying its best to get a system in place to take control of this unexpected Event. Our main character is a geneticist who gets a brain upgrade from the meteor shower, a mad scientist whose goal is to be recognized for his brilliance. Repeatedly rejected throughout his life Dr.Ivan Black is determined to put his name in the history books.
The year is 2003 a cool breeze floats gently through the air dancing through people's open windows bringing with it a deep fragrance of nature. In the spring months of Kentucky every planet is in the prime of its life , nature is taking its natural course and the bright blood red moon sits atop the tree tops. If one were to look up into the night sky that has a red hue to it , they would see one million tiny indigo shards flying towards the planet at astonishing speeds.
Dr. Ivan Black was driving home after another day of getting ignored in the research lab. "I swear if those millennial imbeciles would just enact my theories we wouldn't have to work such long days trying to figure out how to stabilize the different species D.N.A". The only reason they let me come work all the way down in the restricted section of this military base was because of my Groundbreaking research into genetics and my background in animal science and biology.
It's a very peaceful night on my drive to the farm. I choose to live away from the public because my work is an unsightly thing and it would not be due to having my neighbors in my business all the time. Working for the government has its perks however as I make a decent amount of money. While I was driving home I noticed a few asteroids were headed in the direction of my farm so I stomped on the accelerator and felt the car launch as my food crashed into the peddle. Barreling down the road I arrived at the farm in record breaking time.
As I got out of my Truck all I could lay my eyes on was the impact sight. There has to be at least a Ton of space rock right in my backyard. The first thing I did was go down to the material and take a sample to take to my lab under the barn. I turn the radio on as I walk down through the darkness to get to my small bunker of a lab. I'm carrying my carisien lamp through the darkness. The lamp is illuminating the darkness so that I can find my steps on the old wooden steps that I'm going down.
Even in the darkness the sample of space rock I am looking at is still glowing , the most alluring purple I have ever seen is pulsing light every few seconds then fading back into itself just to repeat the cycle. I have never seen any substance quite like this. I make it to my desk with the microscope when I hear the reporters talking about the meteorites that are Impacting all around the Planet. It sounds like it was a big asteroid that was broken apart once it was in orbit and orbit carried all of the shards or fragments all around the planet.
As soon as I heard that the meteorite was broken apart and scattered around the planet I released a sigh I did not know I was holding in. This meteorite could be my way of making history.
My House is secluded from the public for safety and personal reasons , the projects i work on are sensitive subjects that cannot under any circumstance be revealed to the general public.me being me means that i would need my own space as some would say i get a little devoted and lost in my work.
I finally put the material under the microscope and what I see baffles me, it has been many years since I Ivan Black has been baffled. This Purple stone that is slowly pulsating and soft violet light is made up of a material that is not recorded on this planet's periodic Table. The next step is seeing how it reacts to organic matter , so I walk over to my tank of experimental test subjects. I reach my hand into the cage and I pull out a fluffy white hamster who I've been running my latest test on. The previous test was to see how long a rat can run with different stimuli affecting them.
The test is really simple. I'm going to crush up this substance , Let's call it substance-X for now until we know what it does to give it a better name. I finish crushing up the crystal into a powder form and I mix it with water to make a slightly purple liquid that is a little thick.I go turn on my camera and get ready to perform the experiment that will shake history.
Hello all who may be watching this whenever you may be watching this , it is me Dr. Ivan Black here to show you my latest discovery. On my way home from work I discovered this mysterious purple crystal. My first thought was to run a few experiments. However, I am ready to see what this crystal does to a living being. I grab the hamster and I pin it down as I jab it with the syringe, the reaction is almost immediate with the hamster's eyes rolling back and it passes out. I only know it is still alive by the tiny rise and fall of its chest while the hamster is asleep going through a change that is barely visible. I turn the camera and place it right above the cage to record what is happening while I am back up on the surface to gather more samples.
I'm listening to the reporters as I'm making my way back to the surface. Apparently pandemonium is happening in most major cities as the military is trying to quarantine the situation until the problem is resolved. People are going into a deep sleeps and the doctors have no clue what is happening to these people, that is one of the reasons why i wanted to tes the material on a live subject right away in the first place as soon as i seen the reports i knew that if i can solve this i can finally get my moment in the spotlight.

AT the same time that Ivan is going to get more samples to run the test on , The hamster is starting to twitch and the light surrounding him is starting to shift changing the color of his fur slowly shifting through the spectrum until it lands on the perfect colors to disguise itself in the cage perfectly.

I am back at the crash site and still cannot believe how many meteorites I have freely laying in my backyard. I scurry down the hillside with as much grace as a hippo , tripping and falling head over heel into this field of crystals. As i was falling i tried to catch myself but only made my situation worse grabbing at anything i could so that i could save myself the trouble of falling 5 to 6 feet to the ground , my hand reached for and grabbed a large chunk of substance-x as i was falling. The substance-x was not secured appropriately into the ground so when I grabbed the crystal it just came loose into my hand.
My mind goes blank as my back hits the floor , my body is in a sense of shock. It has been years since I've felt anything close to the pain I feel as thousands of tiny shards jab me full of their sharp protrusions. That's the last feeling i feel as my world is ensnared by darkness.
24 hours later
I stir to find i am lying in dirt , searching my memory i find that i was incapacitated and fell unconscious surrounded by this mysterious new element , The first thing i need to do is go check myself out. I walk back to the barn and start preparing my tools to run an analysis on my blood. As i draw my blood and put it into the centrifuge to separate any unknown elements , as i was running that test i go over to check up on the hamster with substance-x in its bloodstream , i am shocked to realize its an empty cage. As I look closer I notice something I've never noticed before. I can see the outline of a hamster and I can see that it is currently still in the cage. I just cannot see it. I grab the outline of the hamster and draw some of its blood so that I can run some comparisons. I have a feeling what's happening to this hamster is not an isolated event considering what I injected into it.
After both samples are done I take them both to my computer to compare the difference between the two , it seems to me that my body is still undergoing something similar to what the hamster Jerry is going through. I finally decided to name him considering he decided to become interesting.
I go to the refrigerator and pull out a sample of my blood from before I've been altered in whatever way these crystals have changed me. I mix the same amount of water and substance-x as i gave to jerry and i introduced it into my blood and watched as the magic happens. I've never been one for dramatics however when i say the ripple of energy or at least that's the only thing i can describe it as goes through my blood completely altering the composition of a simple sample of blood , i can only imagine what is happening to the rest of my D.N.A at this very moment.
My mind starts to turn with eagerness i have not felt in years , I finally have the chance to make these simpletons understand my greatness , with an almost unlimited supply of this mysterious substance-x i have the chance to make everyone who has ever doubted me finally see who i really am and what i really deserve.
Ever since I was just a freshman in college my professors never quite took my theories with the same weight they would my colleagues. I've always , always had to work twice as hard as my supposed peers.
With recent events fresh on my mind I cannot help but come up with an ingenious plan to gain the recognition I should've had all these years.
