Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 {No Payment}

Dr. Lee shook his head slightly, as if to clear his thoughts. He was indeed amazed by Leticia's skill and maturity, given her young age.

"I must admit, Dr. Athena, your abilities are truly remarkable," he said quietly, so that only she could hear.

"At your age, I was still struggling to tie my own surgical gloves."

Leticia's eyes met his for a moment, a hint of amusement in their depths.

"Age is just a number," she replied enigmatically.

"Experience and dedication are what truly matter."

With that, she began to remove her surgical gloves, the action revealing her slender hands once more. The surgical team watched in awe as she disposed of the gloves and began to wash her hands meticulously.

As Leticia dried her hands and turned to leave the operating room, Dr. Lee couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration and curiosity about his mysterious colleague.

"Oh yes the payment for you," Dr. Lee said as Leticia did not take off her face mask. If she takes this payment wouldn't the royal family know that she is the one who did the operation.

"No need I mean no payment," Leticia said.

Dr. Lee looked surprised at Leticia's refusal of payment. He knew that Dr. Athena never accepted compensation for her services, but it was still unusual in the medical field.

"Are you sure, Dr. Athena?" he asked, holding out the envelope containing a substantial amount of money.

"The Novaks insist on remunerating you for your time and expertise."

Leticia hesitated for a moment, her eyes flicking to the envelope before returning to Dr. Lee's gaze.

"I appreciate their generosity," she said softly.

"But I cannot accept it. My purpose is not driven by financial gain."

She paused, considering her next words carefully.

"I prefer to remain anonymous and unconnected to the royal family. It's... safer that way."

Dr. Lee nodded slowly, understanding the implications of her statement. Leticia walked outside she saw it was already dark outside she felt so exhausted.

As Leticia stepped out into the cool night air, she felt the weight of exhaustion settling over her like a heavy blanket. The adrenaline that had fueled her during the surgery was fading, leaving her drained and weary.

She walked slowly to her car, her footsteps echoing in the quiet parking lot. As she reached for the door handle, she paused, leaning against the vehicle for support. The events of the day caught up with her, and for a moment, she closed her eyes, taking a deep breath.

Tun Tun chirped softly from his perch on her shoulder, sensing her fatigue. Leticia reached up to stroke his feathers gently, finding comfort in his presence.

"Let's go home," she murmured softly, straightening up and opening the car door.

As she slid into the driver's seat and started the engine, Leticia couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. She glanced around warily, scanning the darkness for any signs of danger or unwanted attention.

Leticia sank deeper into the warm, soothing water of her bath, the heat easing the tension from her muscles. As she leaned back against the porcelain, her eyes drifted closed, and her mind wandered to a distant memory from her childhood.

She remembered being four years old, sitting crosslegged on the plush carpet of her nursery, surrounded by stacks of books. Her favorite was a worn leather tome that detailed the origins of magic and its evolution over the centuries.

As she flipped through the yellowed pages, Leticia's eyes widened with fascination at the illustrations and descriptions of ancient rituals and mystical beings. The book spoke of a time when magic was as common as breathing, and powerful sorcerers walked among mortals.

She was so happy because she found out they are two different types of abilities users elements users and warrior ability users. She was both and she rushed down the stairs to tell her mother with excitement.

"Mother I know how to use mag…"

"My daughter! Is wondering out there alone! Find her find my daughter!" Morgan said.

But mother she is right here what is she talking about?

"My real daughter not a fake one! That girl from unknown parents who doesn't even have red hair like our family! She has blue hair and those colorful eyes! She is not my daughter!"

At the time Leticia forgot about the memories of her past lives so this was a shock such cruel words to say to a small child.

From that on Leticia worked hard she learned magic, she learned how to handle all kinds of weapons, academic, instruments, and dancing of any kind. She wanted to be proved by her older brother older sister, and parents.

"Ah my lady you are doing a great job young miss!" The teacher said.

Leticia was so happy to be praised. Her teacher was a famous warrior Professor Wyatt.

"Miss I am sure Madam Morgan will be happy," the nanny who loved Leticia like her own daughter said and Leticia threw her small arms around Nanny Ella.

"Really? You must not forget to let mother know," Leticia said.

"Of course little blue bird! I will do that," Nanny Ella said.

The talked around the villa and they stopped at Morgan office. Leticia was so nervous she touched her chest.

Knock knock.

"Come in."

"Yea!" Leticia said.

"What's the matter?" Morgan said as she took off her earbud and typed away on her tryuin. At the time Zerty was not yet created.

"Madam, Miss Leticia was highly praised by Professor Wyatt from the Economic," Nanny Ella said.

"Well she is not a Princeton if she can't do even that," Morgan said.

"But madam! Her achievements is phenomenal. She could grasp a book that even young adults of eighteen to twenty years old cannot comprehend!"

"Well of course she is a Princeton, tch! If it was not the engagement with the royal family Novak I would thrown that fake away long time ago."

Leticia held her dress she must not cry she must not cry. She tagged on the nanny pants wanting the leave.

"Young miss?"

"Ah speaking of which Leticia."

"Yes mother?"

"You fell while dancing with the ninth prince during the ball."

"Madam that is common sense! She is only four years old! The two of them are only four!" Nanny Ella said.

"Nanny Ella, it's not your job to defend her. How can she embarrass our family. Her sister felt so ashamed do you know Lily had to made excuses for her and Lily is only seven years old she could dance perfectly fine and she already awaken her fire element and her older brother eleven years old who is level 6 warrior and elemental user."

"But madam."

Bang! Morgan pointed at Leticia.

"How can she embarrass herself in front of her fiancé?"

"Leticia you must be punished," Morgan said. Leticia was dragged away as she screamed.

"Mother I am sorry I will work harder mother please do not send me back at the attic!" Leticia shouted as tears streamed down.

She thrown in the attic.

"Leticia Princeton reflected on what kind of disgrace has fallen upon you."

Nanny Ella was an old woman as she knelt down.

"Madam let me take the punishment for Leticia."

"One must exercise proper discipline to raise a child worthy of her position. That holds especially true within the house who have warrior and elemental magic users."

Leticia clenched her jaw tightly. Morgan loyal servants rushed over.

"My lady lady we heard about the real second heiress! She goes by the name Amelia!"

"My daughter is alive? She is not hurt is she?" Morgan asked gently.

"Did you say her name is Amelia?"

Leticia clenched her jaw as tears streamed down so she is alive the real daughter with red hair so she is alive? Leticia held her hands together as she prayed prayed for the real daughter not to come until her throat was so sore.

Leticia sat there she is such a terrible child. Please let happiness befall upon that child and upon her as well.

"Miss can you hear me?"

"Auntie Nanny!?" Leticia said as she ran straight toward the door.

"Young Miss must be bare with it."

"Auntie Nanny."

"When you come out tomorrow, I'll have a gift for you it's a black white bracelet. Let me sing for you."

Nanny Ella who remain by her side every time she got punishment in the attic.

But now Nanny Ella fall sick.

Leticia heard a cough.

"Nanny! Nanny can you hear me!" Leticia shouted as she banged on the door.

"Nanny are you sleeping!"

Leticia banged on the door so loudly. She was worried sick.

A burst of color elements cycled around Leticia as a powerful magic cycle banged the door open and she saw Nanny Ella laying there sick.

"Ahhh!" Leticia shouted as her eyes changed colors and turned into pure black as she screamed and held her nanny in her arms and saw the bracelet the Nanny Ella was about to give her.

"It's so cold here Nanny Ella," Leticia said as she picked up her Nanny Ella. She held the bracelet in her hands. A fake!? A fake that should be thrown away! Fine until the day the real returned she will play the perfect daughter but than disappear!
