Back in the same alley, the distorted, interlocking rhombus-shaped mirrors rippled as Fenris and Maria Hill stepped out from the Mirror Dimension.
"I'll stop the investigation on you and seal your and Jessica Jones's files," Maria Hill took the initiative to speak, but Fenris gave no clear response.
"My number is already saved in your phone."
Maria Hill gave Fenris a deep, meaningful look before turning and walking away.
She needed time to digest the glimpse of power this mysterious man had revealed, and she also needed to adapt to her new identity as a super soldier.
More importantly, she didn't believe he had given her something of such immeasurable value, just for money.
Working with him required extreme caution. Otherwise, having already taken a step into the abyss, she could easily be dragged even deeper.
Fenris recalled Mjolnir from the rooftop where it had been left before his leap of faith and waited for Dottie Underwood to return.
When she came back, she had changed outfits. She wore silk stockings, a long skirt, a trench coat, and a blue bucket hat on her head. She looked fashionable, elegant, and stunningly alluring.
Arm in arm with Fenris, the two walked out of the alley and entered a nearby luxury hotel.
The next day, now a super soldier, Dottie Underwood traveled to a place called Madripoor Harbor.
Located in Southeast Asia, Madripoor is both a port city and an independent nation.
The island's center is a highland plateau, surrounded by cliffs along the edges.
The city is divided into the Upper and Lower Districts, where the gap between rich and poor is extreme. The upper class lives in decadent, modern luxury, while the poor survive through hardship, theft, and scams.
Historically, Madripoor was a haven for pirates and still retains a strong pirate culture. It refuses to extradite any criminals and remains a sanctuary for fugitives.
It's also one of Southeast Asia's core business hubs, filled with hotels, malls, and extravagant commercial activity.
In The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, the corrupted Sharon Carter operated here under the alias "Power Broker," developing and trafficking super soldier serum and other weapons.
The Flag Smashers, a group of nearly all super soldiers, obtained their serum from this very place.
In the comics, Madripoor is also deeply tied to many superheroes and villains.
In the Lower District's slums lies a rare oasis of joy, the Princess Bar.
The bar's owner is a friend of Wolverine, who also holds shares under an alias.
The villain Lionmane once set up a pirate base here and secretly controlled the area, but he was defeated by Wolverine and other hired heroes.
Afterward, Madripoor fell under the control of Hydra, managed directly by Madame Hydra, and soon became the global hub of terrorist activity.
S.H.I.E.L.D. and Iron Man eventually ended Hydra's rule. With Wolverine's help, they backed Tyger Tiger in her rise to power as the new underground crime lord of Madripoor.
Tyger Tiger, real name Jessan Hoan, was born into a wealthy family in Singapore that owned the Hoan International Bank.
She was once kidnapped by a criminal leader who attempted to brainwash her into joining his team as a financial expert, but the process was interrupted by the X-Men.
Still, the partial brainwashing affected her worldview, leaving her to rely only on basic moral judgment to determine right from wrong.
She's a skilled fighter, proficient with both blades and firearms, and wears high-defense combat gear similar to the armor used by Domino.
Though she became the ruler of Madripoor, Tyger Tiger maintained strict principles, refusing to engage in drugs or human trafficking. Her main opponent became the remnants of Hydra that had gone underground.
Later, Wolverine's son, Daken, seized control from her. She fell from power, and many of her former followers were either killed or joined Daken. Madripoor once again descended into chaos.
Eventually, Daken's plot was foiled by Gambit, X-23, and Tyger Tiger herself, allowing her to reclaim leadership.
During that time, she and Gambit also fell in love. Their relationship was harmonious, but she ultimately declined his offer to settle in Paris together, and they parted ways.
Hawkeye once stayed at a hotel here and was falsely accused of murder. Surveillance footage even showed him at the scene, but it was later revealed that the true culprit was Madame Masque, who had impersonated him.
Mystique also once tried to turn Madripoor into a haven for mutants. A drug that enhanced mutant powers briefly gained popularity there, though the plan eventually fell apart.
Even Nick Fury had a safehouse in the area.
In short, to various organizations and individuals, Madripoor Harbor is a lawless land worth fighting for.
Its remote location keeps it far from New York and the central plotlines, meaning no matter what chaos erupts there, it won't affect the sacred "script" of the timeline.
For now, Dottie Underwood was sent ahead to scout the area and make connections. When the time was right, Everywhere Logistics' headquarters would officially open in Madripoor, becoming Fenris's stronghold in this timeline and this universe.
