Synopsis
What would you do if you chose to disappear from the world? Some say solitude would kill them. But for Maria Martinez, it was the only way to survive. High above the broken earth, in a sky-floating island of her own making, Maria lives in quiet exile; tending to a garden that blooms where nothing else does. She has no use for people and has no patience for the noise below. “Life is short,” she murmurs, brushing soil from her gloves, “but it offers more than enough.” “Mm,” a voice beside her replies, smooth and amused. “Much like me.” She doesn’t look at him. She doesn’t need to. ‘This man is insufferable,’ she thinks, already regretting the moment she let him live. __________ Author’s Note: Please, have mercy on me. Chapter 1 - Prologue

Author's Note: You may skip to the next chapter.

Buzz. Buzz.

In the higher part of the sky, a wandering object shows up. It lets out a robotic sound after an order code was sent to its command network.

[Search anomaly source for unauthorized formations. Begin recording.]

In its view, silver clouds part slowly like curtains drawn back on an empty stage. There, a dome suspended mid-sky, seemlessly different from any other floating islands.

ORBIT-EYE 09 drifts silently while its lens is adjusting as the unregistered island enters its view.

Once again, the robotic voice of this surveillance drone sounded. [Unnatural growth detected. Flora species logged as extinct. More wildlife. Anomalous. Repeating, anomalous detected. Anomalous detected.]

Within the dome, a patch from it is a garden that defines what life is. Light grey of vines curl over the broken machines.

The scene looks eerie and nostalgic. But the smell coming off from the lavender field pulses through the air like mist, making the scene more magical.

Different kinds of animals are residing there. From aquatic, aerial, to terrestrial type of animals, all are roaming freely and unthreatened.

Then, its lens suddenly zoomed in on a specific target. [Movement detected.]
A figure.

White coat. Unusual color of hair. Gloves soaked in soil. A figure moves like a ghost among the flowers. Each step taken do not leave mark, yet everything turns toward the figure's direction.

The drone scans the figure's face. In turn, the target in red frame shows anomalies. No match. No ID registered. No known citizen of a nation.

Buzz. Buzz.

Suddenly, the figure raises their head slightly and looked straight into the lens.

How?

[Warning. Proximity Breach. External Spike Detected]

The dome shifts. Metal vines curl up from the base like a snare toward it.

The drone jerks.

[Lens fracture detected.]

In the end, the last thing the camera sees is the figure lifting their hand, opening their palm softly and slowly as if telling the sky to hush.

Then, black.

[Feed Terminated.]

Same for the one watching behind the screen.

Inside a dark room, a figure is sitting down in front of a big screen, the only source of light in that room.

The figure could not help but rejoice from what he discovered. But it died down a after, and he started typing on the keyboard.
[Subject Solara is alive. Island name. SKY-ZERO. If she still possesses the cure, we may not survive the second wave. Recommend immediate recon. End.]
