Chapter 35 - Chapter 34 — Kingdom Root: The Whisper of the Primebeast

The light from Varnaxis's trial had barely faded before Iden staggered forward, eyes wide, lungs gasping. The battlefield beneath the colossal beast's throne vanished, replaced by warm sunlight and the scent of pine in a wind that wasn't artificial. This wasn't another floor of the tower—it was a new realm entirely.

They had been released.

And they had survived.

All forty skeletons followed behind him, bone-silent, armor gleaming with energy left over from their last battle. Rael emerged beside him, hands glowing faintly with residual Sanctum Pulse energy, and Nyra dragged the tip of her blade through the grass, watching the open terrain beyond them.

But Iden's vision flickered.

Something wasn't done yet.

A rift opened—inside his mind.

He stood in a place that wasn't a place, beneath stars that hummed with language. And before him—again—sat Varnaxis. But smaller now. Not the towering god-beast of before. Now merely a gaze, and a grin, and an echo.

"You fulfilled your end of the pact," Varnaxis rumbled. "You endured what kings could not. You command the dead, not as slaves, but as family. And for that—one final reward."

A shape dropped into Iden's open palm.

[MYTHICAL SUMMONING TOKEN: GENERAL OF ETERNAL MARROW]

It pulsed with the silence of a battlefield long buried.

"Summon him only when your army has a name… and a purpose. For he will remember you."

Then, from behind the beast's throne, the walls of the tower folded in on themselves—forming a glowing portal etched in bone-runes.

[You have obtained a Personal Dungeon: Crypt of Legion's Rise]

"A proving ground for your dead," said the Primebeast. "Level them. Shape them. Prepare for the next tide."

With a final blink of violet flame, Iden returned to the waking world.

He collapsed onto the grass—but the moment his knees touched the earth, he felt it.

Power.

Levels surged within him like magma flooding a chamber.

Level 13… Level 14… 15—

Your current summon capacity has doubled: 42 → 84

Level 16… 17… 18—

Your summon capacity has doubled again: 84 → 168

Level 19… 20… 21—

Capacity doubled again: 168 → 336

"Three times..." Iden murmured.

He had become a commander of armies.

Rael was the first to reach him. Her hands hovered near his chest, then pulsed with light.

"Iden… you're glowing. Like a star. Did he…?"

He nodded and gently placed the mythical token into her hand for a moment. It seared her palm and she recoiled—but her smile deepened.

"That's not a summon," she whispered. "That's a legend."

Nyra was next, pacing, lips curling in amusement.

"Didn't think we'd walk out of there alive. And now you have a damn undead war god waiting for your call."

"Tell me something," she asked, crouching beside him. "What exactly are we building now?"

He didn't need to answer. Because just beyond the tree line, the terrain cracked. Runes etched themselves into the earth. And from below…

The Crypt of Legion's Rise emerged.

Black spires. Spiral staircases of bone. Portals flickering like breath.

[Kael_Grin]: Yeah. Tower group. No one knew him. Just vanished… until now.

Iden stood at the foot of his new domain. Behind him, his legion—forty elite skeletons, all freshly evolved, pulsing with radiant death-energy. Ahead lay the Crypt, and beyond that… the world.

"We're done climbing," Iden said."Now we build."

He opened his hand.

The mythical token pulsed again.

Not yet… but soon.
