"Ding! To answer the host—the target is Broly from a parallel timeline, not from your current universe."
Upon hearing the system's reply, Lynx was stunned.
A parallel timeline Broly?
Good thing he asked—otherwise, how would he have even begun this mission?
Lynx was well aware that the Dragon Ball universe was immensely vast.
It featured the concept of multiple universes—a total of 12 universes made up the Dragon Ball multiverse. Lynx's current location was just one of those twelve universes.
The differences between universes could be extreme—like separate countries. For example, Saiyans in his universe were originally warlike and brutal, while in another universe, they might be a peaceful race, or even nonexistent altogether.
But beyond this multiverse, there was also the idea of parallel timelines.
A parallel timeline referred to a world born within the same universe, but altered by some change in events—resulting in a timeline that was both similar and different.
Take Lynx's own world: he knew clearly that this must be a parallel timeline of a canonical Dragon Ball universe. Because of his arrival, Planet Vegeta was never destroyed by Frieza.
But there was certainly another timeline—one where Lynxnever arrived. In that world, as in the original plot, Planet Vegeta was obliterated by Frieza.
Now, the system wanted Lynx to travel into one of those alternate timelines—to deal with another version of Broly.
But that raised a key question:
"System, how do I complete Choice 3? Are you going to send me into that parallel timeline?"
"Ding! Host must figure out a method on your own. However, the system can offer a hint: within this universe, there exists a way to reach the target timeline."
"...Fine then, I choose Option 3!"
After thinking it over, Lynx couldn't suppress his curiosity. He chose the most difficult of the three missions.
After all, the Frost Demon Serum in Options 1 and 2 wasn't much help to him now—his subordinates were mostly Saiyans. But the Legendary Super Saiyan 2 Form Experience Card...That was something he couldn't pass up.
"Ding! Choice accepted. Please complete the mission as soon as possible. Due to the difficulty of this task, your time limit is extended to three years."
Having locked in his target, Lynx gave new orders to King Vegeta and the other Saiyans:
Starting today, the Saiyan race would begin liberating former Frieza Force planets—freeing those that had been oppressed.
Though there would be no direct reward from the system for doing so, Lynx believed it was necessary. Battles would help the Saiyans regain their edge.
Queen Hanasia's death had proven one thing—raw strength alone wasn't enough. After five years of peace, many Saiyans had forgotten the harsh reality of combat.
While the Saiyan armies spread across the stars, Lynxreturned to Earth.
With three years to complete the mission, he decided to revive Hanasia and the others first.
His first stop was Kame House.
When he arrived, Master Roshi was teaching Tights and Bulma martial arts.
"Master Roshi! Tights! Bulma!"
Lynx greeted them warmly—and shared a brief tender moment with Tights—then got straight to the point.
"Master Roshi, I need that orb you wear around your neck."
Roshi blinked in surprise, lifting the pendant in confusion.
"This thing? I've studied it for years and never figured out what it is."
"It's called a Dragon Ball," Lynx explained. "There are seven in total. When you gather all of them—you can make a wish."
"Whaaat? You're telling me it's that powerful!?" Roshi exclaimed.
Still, he handed the orb over without protest.
"If someone as strong as you still needs this, it must be serious. Take it."
"Thank you, Master Roshi."
After taking the Dragon Ball, Lynx said goodbye to the three and used Instant Transmission to teleport elsewhere.
But after he left, Bulma's eyes sparkled with intrigue.
"So… the dragon,Lynx talked about before… it's real?"
Next, Lynx headed to Mount Paozu.
There, young Goku was out hunting in the forest. Without disturbing him, Lynx whispered an apology in his heart—and quietly took the Four-Star Ball.
His final stop was the Lookout (Kami's Sanctuary).
"Big brother Lynx!"
Running out to greet him was Broly, who had been living at the sanctuary for over a year now.
He wore a set of priest-like robes, and had grown significantly taller—so much so that Lynx barely recognized him.
"Yo, Broly!"
Seeing how much he had changed, Lynx couldn't help but marvel: This once-destructive monster had become kind and peaceful—a testament to just how much Lynx had influenced this world.
"How's life treating you here?"
"It's amazing! Thank you again, big brother Lynx. Every day I study with Mr. Popo and Kami—I've learned so much!" Broly beamed.
Lynx smiled. Then he looked up to greet Kami, who was walking toward him.
"Kami, I came here today to ask for your help.I already have two Dragon Balls—I need your assistance finding the rest."
He held up the two orbs he had gathered.
Kami glanced at them, then frowned.
"Mr. Lynx, if you recall… I once told you…"
"That you don't know where the Dragon Balls are?"
Lynx interrupted calmly.
"Kami, just this once—help me. If you do, I'll take you to your homeland."
"You mean… Namek?" Kami's eyes widened.
Back when Lynx first brought Broly to the Lookout, Kami had learned he was actually an alien from Namek.
As an orphan who had never seen his homeworld, Kami had always longed to go back.
But he quickly furrowed his brow again and shook his head.
"No… I am Earth's guardian. I cannot leave this sanctuary for long."
"You won't need to," Lynx replied."I'll use Instant Transmission. The trip will only take a second."
That finally won Kami over.
A few hours away wouldn't hurt anything.
Driven by his longing for home, Kami dropped the pretense and called on Mr. Popo to help gather the remaining Dragon Balls…
