Chapter 1 - A Dark Night: Claimed by the Prince

Eudora ran, inside a giant forest, under the cold glow of the moonlight. But this scene wasn't dreamy, it was a pure nightmare.

She bolted frantically, fleeing from someone, or something, that reeked of death. This was a run-or-die situation, if she stops to even take break, she's dead if she got caught. If she stopped, even for a breath, she was dead.

The forest was anything but magical. With dark skeletal trees, crows rested on the bare branches, the air was heavy, the woods devoid of light. She could only rely on the moonlight's soft glow to give light on the path. Her breathing came in ragged gasps, but even if she trips or her legs grew tired, she didn't dare stop.

Then she crashed into a massive tree.

The concussion felt like an explosion of pain, the impact leaving her dizzy, her vision blurred, her body losing balance causing her to fall back, before she could recover from the impact, it was too late

A hand grabs her arm. She turned her head, her eyes widened in fear, Vampires...

She was unfortunate enough to attract a group of them. And now concussed and weakened, she was caught. The pain and fear took over, and she blacked out.

She slepped for who knows how long.

She stirred from her sleep, her hands were shackled "Huh... Where..." She mumbled, sitting up and looking around. Cold metal bars surrounded her, a cage. She spotted two figures standing outside her cage. Guards, maybe.

"Help! Get me out of here!" She screamed, slamming her fist on the bars.

The guards didn't even glance her way.

Stupid... Of course they wouldn't. They were probably vampires too. Why did I expect that they'd help me...

As a human, she knew what her fate was. It was sealed the moment they caught her. Being imprisoned in a vampire territory meant only one thing, she'd become a blood bag for these vampires to feast on. Her arms dropped to her sides, feeling lost, she fell to her knees.

There was no way out.

She remained Imprisoned for days

They bathed her every other day, during every meal she'd receive meat, at least it was decent. On the third day, she saw someone else being dragged into a nearby cage. She watched closely, these vampires drew blood from every new human, taking the sample somewhere else, testing it, maybe?

Everything became clear when she witnessed a human being bought by a vampire, this place wasn't just a pridon, it was a business, humans where sold here, like cattles, to vampires.

One day, a man wearing a dark cloak approached Eudora's cage.

"Her, she's the one with A+ blood," he said "Human's like her with rich blood are a luxury, they are difficult to find."

Eudora listens, blinking in confusion,

A+blood? She thought. What does he mean?

Another man approached, this one dressed in extravagant clothing. He wore a high-collared velvet coat, deep crimson with black embroidery. A silk ruffled shirt spilled from his throat, bright against the darkness of his attire. Silver buttons gleamed like fangs, and a blood-red brooch fastened his collar. His deathly pale complexion was an indication that he's a vampire.

He scans Eudora up and down, then noded in approval. With a clink, he tossed a pouch of coins towards the cloaked man, rattling with coins to the cloaked man.

"I'll take it, 10 gold coins as promised..." The cloaked man chuckles

"Take it, Great Prince William. It was always meant to be yours... wasn't it?"

He unlocked the cage, Prince William stood before. Her face twisted in a glare, her stance tightened, guarded.

The vampire tilts his head, amused.

'Human..." He speaks coldly, "You're mine now..."

Eudora's blood ran cold.
