Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: SSS-Level Talent

A hidden combat profession?

The moment the announcement echoed across the square, a wave of disbelief and excitement surged through the crowd.

"Did they just say Hidden Combat Profession?"

"And it's an S-Level Talent?! That's insane!"

Murmurs became shouts. Whispers turned into roars. Students, teachers, even the elderly principal couldn't hide their astonishment.

A student awakening a hidden combat class was already less than a 1% probability, and to combine that with an S-Level Talent? That was like being struck by lightning while holding a winning lottery ticket.

A figure at the center of all this chaos—Lucas—stood still atop the altar, bathed in the glow of seven-colored light, his expression caught somewhere between stunned and confused.

But not for the reason everyone thought.

While the audience was erupting in envy and admiration, Lucas stood frozen because something completely unexpected was happening inside his mind.

> Ding—Job transfer successful. System binding in progress…

A mechanical voice, flat and emotionless, rang in his head like a synthesized AI notification.

Lucas wasn't just any transmigrator. He had a system. A real one.

> Ding—Host has awakened the Assassin class. Activating the Strongest Assassin System. Binding complete.

Lucas blinked.

He hadn't just awakened as a Shadow Assassin. Something even more ridiculous was happening.

> Warning: Shadow Assassin is too weak for the Strongest Assassin System. Upgrading…

> Hidden Class Shadow Assassin → Upgraded to Hidden Myth Class: God-Killing Assassin.

> S-Level Talent: Shadow Blade → Upgraded to SSS-Level Talent: God-Killing Blade.

Lucas's heart skipped a beat.

> God-Killing Blade [Talent Passive Skill]:

When not in stealth, all attack damage is increased by 1000%

Attack speed increases by 200%

Incoming damage is reduced by 50%

> Shadow Step Teleportation:

While invisible, you can instantly teleport behind an enemy for a surprise attack

First strike damage is boosted by 300%

Lucas was stunned.

"Did… did I just get promoted to a walking raid boss?"

He opened his status panel and stared at the glowing letters:

[Class: God-Killing Assassin | Talent: God-Killing Blade (SSS-Level)]

"This isn't an upgrade. This is a cheat code!"

He didn't know whether to laugh or panic. It felt absurd. It was absurd.

The students below stared at him like he was a god. The crowd had no idea the public announcement had underplayed how broken his setup really was. If S-Level was rare, SSS-Level was mythical—something that only appeared in ancient records or world legends.

---

Meanwhile, below the altar, the presiding teacher's serious face had completely transformed. He was now smiling like a fanboy.

After all, he was only a Level 46 second-tier combatant. It had taken him twenty years to get that far. The boy in front of him had awakened a class and Talent that would absolutely eclipse him within a few months.

He couldn't help but think, I better treat this kid right… maybe he'll remember me when he's famous.

Even the dean and the principal didn't interrupt. They watched Lucas in awe, already planning how to record this moment in school history, and plaster his name across banners as a shining example of success.

Eventually, Lucas snapped out of his daze. Realizing he was still on the altar, he quickly nodded at the officiator and stepped down, still reeling internally from what had just happened.

---

The crowd parted for him as he descended. Eyes followed him. Whispers followed him. It was as though a star had descended from the sky and was now casually walking past mortals.

"Holy crap, Lucas! That was EPIC!"

Mason nearly tackled him in excitement. His face was red, and he was bouncing like a kid at a theme park. "You're a Hidden Combat Class AND S-Level Talent?! You're officially cooler than Thor!"

Lucas scratched the back of his neck, laughing awkwardly. "Well... yeah. Pretty wild, huh?"

He couldn't exactly say, 'Actually, I've got SSS-Level Talent and I'm a God-Killing Assassin.' That would make things even crazier—and possibly dangerous. He decided to keep it to himself for now.

If word got out, he might become a target, not a hero.

"You look kind of... off though?" Mason blinked. "Wait, don't tell me—you're disappointed?"

"Huh? No! Just... too happy. I'm still processing."

Lucas laughed it off, slapping Mason's shoulder.

"Ah, yeah, makes sense! Honestly, if I found out I was that OP, I'd probably pass out from excitement too."

The two friends chuckled and goofed around, Mason even dramatically dropping to one knee. "Master Lucas, take me as your loyal follower and lead me to glory!"

Lucas pretended to be solemn. "If you call me 'Daddy,' I'll consider it."

"You jerk!" Mason burst into laughter, throwing a mock punch.

Their playful banter drew jealous stares from others nearby. More than a few classmates were already regretting not being closer to Lucas before this day. If only they'd been nicer, maybe they'd be standing beside him right now, basking in that rainbow glow of greatness.

---

Just as things settled, the altar lit up again—another rainbow-colored light!

The crowd gasped, all eyes turning to the stage.

A girl stepped forward—tall, elegant, with an aura like frost on a mountain.

"Ling Xera, job transfer successful. Hidden Combat Profession: Frost Mage!"

"…Talent Grade: S-Level!"

The announcement echoed through the square like thunder.

Another S-Level Talent?! Another Hidden Combat Class?!

And not just anyone—Ling Xera, the campus queen of Ling Academy. Her beauty alone made her stand out like a gemstone. Now, she had just become a Frost Mage, one of the most rare and powerful long-range magic classes.

"Are you kidding me?! A Frost Mage?!"

"She's a goddess—literally and magically!"

"Dude, her class is better than Lucas's! Long-range mages with S-Level control spells? She's going to be a team MVP!"

If Lucas had been the center of attention just moments ago, Ling Xera had now joined him on that pedestal—perhaps even overtaken him in the eyes of some.

Her elegance, combined with the mystique of her new profession, made her an instant idol to both students and teachers.

---

Mason elbowed Lucas with a grin. "Hey... you see who that is?"

Lucas blinked. "Yeah. I'm not blind."

Mason smirked. "That's the one you were always secretly crushing on, huh? Ling Xera, the queen of our rival school. You both got S-Level Hidden Classes. If that's not fate, I don't know what is."

Lucas coughed. "She's a mage, I'm an assassin. It's not like we're going to the prom together."

"Please! That's textbook fantasy romance material: cold ice mage and shadowy assassin. Power couple vibes. You should go confess right now."

Lucas stared at him with a deadpan face. "You know, not everyone handles rejection by pretending it's a game quest."

Mason burst into laughter. "You never know, man. Maybe she saw you glow earlier and thought, 'Who's that mysterious rainbow assassin?'"

Lucas shook his head, half amused, half embarrassed.

---

Two S-Level Hidden Combat Classes awakened in one ceremony was already unheard of. The school square was now a storm of gossip, cheers, and speculation.

Teachers were already sending out reports. Recruiters from guilds and factions would surely be on their way.

And Lucas?

He was just getting started.

Behind his calm smile was a storm of thoughts. He had the strongest assassin system, SSS-Level Talent, and a class that was practically unstoppable. His goal wasn't just to survive in this world—it was to dominate it.

And maybe, just maybe, get the girl while he was at it.
