'What's a lover?' I asked naively, trying to play it off. 'It's someone you will stand by and make a life with, to share the burdens and good times with. I don't want to be your only lover, I just want to be by your side.' She said, her voice shaking a little, with a look of sadness. Being attacked by the goblin and not getting love from her husband may be eating away at her happiness, so I smiled gently and nodded. 'Sure, I will be your lover.' I said, naively, making her smile as she hugged me tightly. I guess another woman will be by my side. Well, this world has polygamy in it, so I don't need to worry about having more than one, as powerful people tend to draw more lovers.
She kissed my forehead before standing back up 'I will talk to you more another day.' She said, happily walking away, making me chuckle as we walked out of the forest, and I went back to my home as she went back to hers. I sat on the porch waiting for my mother to return as I looked at eggs to buy, I ended up picking a male and female Triceratops with the earth and metal elements as I started to mess with their bodies making their bodies have plated scales and a clubbed tail with spikes on it as I finished tweaking their bodies and placed them in an open area away from the carnivores so they can grow healthy first.
My mother returned an hour later with a basket full of food and placed it inside before coming back out and sitting next to me, making me lie my head on her lap as she sang a song. I never heard her sing before, but I could tell she was happy right now, so I let her do as she pleased. The sun moved across the sky as we enjoyed this time together, as I rested before tomorrow, knowing it would be work to hunt and train for six hours before classes in the afternoon. As dusk came, we entered the house and ate dinner before putting the lights out, and the moon shone into the one-bedroom house as my mother's clothes fell to the floor. 'Come on, Jacob. Time to sleep.' She said, making me gulp as I undid my clothes and crawled into the bed. Closing my eyes, trying not to be bothered.
When the first sign of light entered through the window, a knock rang out at the front door as I rolled out of bed and got dressed. I knew it was John as my mother still slept in the nude, making me sigh as my blood was already pumping so early in the morning. 'Let's get going, Jacob.' John said, holding his staff, and I nodded, summoning my first six Utahraptors as we started into the forest looking for goblins to hunt. We walked for an hour until we finally found a group. As I pulled the bow out as we hid in the forest, I sent a mental command to the four other Utahraptors, signaling them to circle the five goblins and only kill them if they ran that way.
I grabbed three arrows from my quiver and put one in the bow while holding the other two. I covered it with water elemental magic, making it look see-through. Letting go as it flew towards the first goblin while I quickly loaded the second one and fired before the first one hit, killing the second one while they were still in shock after the first goblin was dead. They couldn't see where the arrow flew from and picked up a triangle as I killed the one facing us, scaring the other two to run away into the mouths of the Utahraptors. 'Adam and Eve, track down their village.' I said to make them smell the goblins. As we raced towards the scent and stopped in front of a small village, there were only about a hundred goblins, but I noticed a girl my age with long ears chained up. 'Is that an Elf?' John said.
This drew my attention, and Elf? I looked at the girl, she didn't look to be in good shape as he spoke. 'Elves don't hit childbearing age until their bodies are around the age of 21 in human years. They grow up like humans do, they don't show signs of aging after their bodies hit childbearing age.' He said, meaning the goblins most likely tried to mate with her. What a poor girl, as I pulled an arrow out of the quiver and loaded it. I commanded my Utahraptors to attack as I aimed at the goblin that was in front of the girl and let the arrow go, hitting it in the head, killing it as we jumped the wall, which wasn't high, about ten feet maybe at most.
The elven girl looked over with dim eyes as I shot two arrows, hitting the chains and breaking them. As Adam ran through the goblins with wind blades dancing around him, slicing the goblins into tiny bits, we got closer. He then undid it, and I leaned down, pulling her up and holding her. 'KILL ALL THE GOBLINS!' I yelled as my raptors ripped them apart, and the goblins couldn't hurt them as the level gap was too significant. We cleaned out the group of goblins as I held this girl and looked over at John as he nodded. 'That's it for today, it's around 11 anyway, so it's time to head back and get ready for class.' He said as I made sure the girl didn't fall.
She held me tightly, not letting go as we made our way back to the village after we got the magic crystals from the hundred goblins. I plan to sell them and buy something nice for my mother. 'What will you do with this Elf? I hear they sell for a pretty penny.' John said, making the girl hug him tightly. 'I will take her into our family, she has been through a lot and needs a loving place. My mother can heal that wounded heart, and I will make sure to protect her.' I said, making the Elf look up a little and smile lightly before falling asleep. John smiled and chuckled. 'You're more like your father than you know.' He said, picking his speed up as we raced through the forest.
We pulled up to the village after fifty minutes of running, and I carried the Elf in my arms as I unsummoned the Utahraptors. 'Mother, I need your help!' I yelled out as we got close to the house, and she walked out. 'What's wrong, Jacob?' She asked with concern. This Elf was held captive, and I fear they sexually abused her. But they were too dumb to know that she was too young to give birth, please bathe her and stay by her side until she wakes up so she can eat.' I said, laying out what I wanted her to do as she listened and nodded before taking the girl into her arms and bringing her inside.
As John guided me to an area to the side and sat me down. 'I think we should go over the different races today. As you can see, other beings, not human, are in this world, and there are different kinds of humans, along with various other beings. Take that Elf for one, her ears tell me she is a forest Elf, there are ones called Blood Elves, Dark Elves, and at least five other ones I can think of right now. Humans are the biggest by population, with Beast people next, followed by elves after them. There are too many kinds of beings to list in one class, but I will go over elves for you today.' He said.
I found out that forest elves tend to keep themselves hidden, and any elf caught by one of the monster races or other races can't return home as they don't want other people finding their village. I looked towards my home, knowing that the girl would never be able to see her family again, which made me realize that my mom and I are the only ones she can count on in this world. He also explained that other races can interbreed and produce mixed offspring. But mixed offspring tend not to be welcomed into either of the races, as they see it as a corrupted life form.
The class went on for an hour before my front door opened up, and John nodded towards my mother. 'We will hunt tomorrow morning, and I will review what we went over while we hunt.' He said before walking away. 'She is away and sitting at the table.' My mother said with a smile. I nodded and entered the house as the blonde-haired Elf with dark green eyes looked at me, and I walked over, pulling my chair next to her and sitting. I didn't say anything and began to eat.
'You can talk whenever you feel ready. I will be by your side until you feel like opening up or just leaning on me.' I said before taking a bite. As she nodded, we ate quietly.
