Chapter 27 - Chapter26

Elara could take the Wei and Shi guards to deal with the watchers near Brother Mo, but there were simply too many assassins from the Blood Garment Tower inside the lair. If they were accidentally discovered, the consequences would become extremely difficult to handle.

She thought for two seconds, then lowered her gaze and said to Emory,

"Do you still have anything for disguise on you?"

Emory was stunned for a moment and nodded. "Yes."

Elara looked up at the shadowy corners around them and called out Wei Three to Wei Nine, then called out Shi Three to Shi Nine as well. Her eyes swept back and forth between Emory and the Wei and Shi guards, finally picking out Shi Five, whose build was most similar to Emory's.

She had Shi Five stand in front of Emory, then gave Emory a nod of her chin.

"Draw it. Make him become you."

The next fifteen minutes.

In just fifteen short minutes, Elara felt like she had just witnessed a magic trick of a person transforming live.

Shi Five originally looked nothing like Emory except for height, but now right in front of her, he gradually turned into a second Emory.

If not for Shi Five's colder and more rigid expression, and the real Emory still holding tools and adjusting around him, Elara almost couldn't tell who was who just from appearance.

"You said earlier that the Blood Garment Tower got a method from the Dark Faction to identify you. You…"

Before Elara finished speaking, Emory understood her meaning and nodded to explain.

"Don't worry. The Dark Faction did tell Blood Garment Tower a way to distinguish me, but the reason they could recognize me was mostly because I took my senior brother's jade token."

"The identification method on that jade token was removed after I took it. The people of the Dark Faction may be beasts, but they are all trained under my Thousand Faces Sect. They would never reveal the true method of identification to outsiders. Otherwise, they themselves would be harmed."

"Besides, even within the Thousand Faces Sect, each person's disguise technique is different. The ways to identify are also different. My disguise technique is not something even those in the Dark Faction can necessarily see through. You don't have to worry."

With that, Elara nodded without saying more. As she watched Emory adjusting the details on Shi Five, she also gave Shi Five some instructions about what to do later.

"When the people of Blood Garment Tower start chasing you, don't fight back. Just use your qinggong to run. But don't go too fast. Lure them, and try your best to lead them outside the city."

"You also need to be careful. Don't really get hurt. Make sure you're carrying enough medicine."

Emory, as a person from the Thousand Faces Sect, was not skilled in fighting but had unmatched qinggong.

If Elara wanted to rescue Brother Mo from the Blood Garment Tower's lair without being noticed, the best way was to draw out all the assassins inside.

Since Emory was one of their mission targets, and those more than ten top-ranked assassins had previously died chasing him, now that he showed up again in front of the Blood Garment Tower assassins, they would definitely go after him.

That was why she had Shi Five, who had the most similar build to Emory, disguise as him to lure the assassins out of the lair.

Shi Five's qinggong and martial strength far exceeded Emory's, and Elara would also send people to support him. There was no need to worry he would fail or get hurt.

Shi Five listened carefully to Elara's words and seriously accepted the task.

Although the Shi shadow guards usually stayed by Benedict's side, Elara, who carried the Saint Spirit Blood Soul, was also their master. Every order from Elara would be followed without question.

Everything was ready.

After Emory finished adjusting the final detail for Attendant Wu, Elara led everyone quietly back into the imperial city of Geranium Kingdom.

Taking advantage of the darkness of the night, they moved toward the hideout of the Blood Garment Tower inside the imperial city of Geranium Kingdom.

They moved silently without alarming anyone.

Late at night.

In the Dahlia Kingdom's Blood Garment Tower branch base, deep inside the Geranium Imperial City.

The assassins of the Blood Garment Tower, who were originally scattered across different areas doing their own tasks, suddenly grew restless.

A few seconds later, dozens of secret orders were sent out from the concealed front door of the Blood Garment Tower.

The command contained only one sentence: Target Two of the mission has appeared. The target may have a powerful ally, making the task more difficult, but since the mission deadline is near, they must be eliminated today. Except for the guards, numbers 90 to 100 of the Heaven list, and those ranked after number 50 on the Earth list, everyone else must move out. Use any means necessary to eliminate Mission Target Two.

As soon as this secret command was issued, nearly a third of the assassins at the base mobilized. And this group, except for the ten Heaven list assassins guarding Brother Mo, were the most skilled fighters.

Once they left, the branch base of the Blood Garment Tower became noticeably emptier and its defenses significantly weakened.

Now dressed in stealth attire and having had her appearance and figure altered by Emory, Elara led the top five Wei family members and top seven Shi family members to sneak in silently.

Thanks to the continuous reports from the Puppet Soldiers, the complex and concealed layout of the Blood Garment Tower branch was already very clear in Elara's mind.

They quietly eliminated a few key gatekeepers who had important keys, dragged their bodies to places where they wouldn't be discovered for a while, then used the keys to unlock doors and continued silently toward the bottom of the prison where Brother Mo was being held.

The Blood Garment Tower was not an official prison. The people locked inside weren't criminals, but rather targets captured alive from various kingdoms under contract.

Before entering the most tightly guarded bottom-level cell, Elara took out a colorless and odorless sleeping agent made by Oswyn.

She ignited it and had several small lizards carry it inside.

The colorless smoke slowly rose inside the prison.

Since it was already deep into the night, the captured people from various kingdoms locked inside the cells soon fell into an even deeper sleep.

After confirming that the sleeping agent had taken effect, Elara silently unlocked the bottom-level cell and slipped inside.

Brother Mo was locked at the very innermost part of this cell.

The ten Heaven list assassins guarding him were positioned all around the cell.

But shortly after entering, Elara sharply noticed that those ten Heaven list assassins around the cell indeed had a resistance to the sleeping agent.

Each one of them was still awake, guarding the area with alert eyes, seemingly only slightly affected.

Because there were other captives and Brother Mo in the cell, Elara couldn't use a stronger poison.

This silent agent was only a bit more effective than the average one. Her goal was merely to make unrelated people sleep and not get in the way.

As for the ten top assassins, she never expected to handle them with the drug alone.

The Blood Garment Tower's top assassins were known to be extremely cautious.

Oswyn's drug only made them feel slightly tired, which might seem normal to ordinary people, but was a clear warning sign to assassins trained to always remain alert.

The moment they sensed something odd in the air, all ten became highly vigilant.

They quickly took out antidotes from their pockets and swallowed them.

At the same time, they drew their daggers and began carefully probing outward.

They also pulled out the secret communication devices used between Blood Garment Tower assassins, ready to report an intruder.

But Elara wasn't about to let them send out a warning.

At the very moment they sensed danger, she stopped hiding.

A surge of powerful inner energy erupted from her body and rushed into the sharp dagger in her hand.

Then, like a cat, she suddenly pounced from the shadows, her dagger flashing like lightning as she stabbed toward the back of an assassin.

Among these ten, the strongest assassin was only at ninety percent of Elara's strength.

Yet perhaps due to years of experience walking the edge of death, the assassin still sensed her sneak attack.

He instinctively raised his dagger and blocked Elara's strike, then turned around and exchanged over a dozen moves with her.

But it was only a dozen moves.

His power was ten percent lower than hers, and his martial arts couldn't compare to the top-tier Divine Mystic Technique.

After a rapid exchange of moves as fast as shadows, he was stabbed in a vital spot and fell to the ground coughing blood.

After taking down one, Elara moved to eliminate the second.

By the time she finished him off, the rest of the assassins had already been dealt with by the Wei and Shi family members.

Elara took the prison keys from the assassins and opened the door locking Brother Mo inside.

Inside the cell stood a young man who looked to be about twenty-seven or twenty-eight years old.

His clothes were in tatters and soaked in blood, with his exposed skin covered in marks of torture.

His long limbs were bound in thick chains, his body suspended in a spread-eagle position.

His long black hair hung down behind him, and his head was lowered.

But since he was hanging in the air, Elara could see his face when she stepped in front of him.

His facial features were refined and handsome, with sharp and defined lines, making him a striking man.

Elara unfastened the chains locking his limbs.

Brother Mo instantly collapsed weakly.

His body had developed resistance to many types of poison.

The moment he fell, his tired eyes slowly opened, revealing dark, jewel-like pupils.

"You…"
