Yuvraj Sharma House
"This is our Miss Mannat's fiancé, Mr. Yuvraj Sharma, whose engagement is scheduled for today. Mannat and Yuvraj have been in a loving relationship for quite some time.
After Mannat lost her job and was feeling low, Yuvraj comforted her saying, 'Anyway, you don't need to work now. I'm here for you. I don't want you to do a job anymore, and even if you've lost yours, it doesn't matter to me.'
They deeply understand each other, and both their families have always supported one another.
The atmosphere at Yuvraj's house was cheerful and full of excitement. While preparations were still underway, it was already 1:00 PM. No one realized how quickly time was flying by.
Yuvraj still wasn't ready. He picked up his car keys and told his mom, 'Mom, I'll be back soon. My friend Karan is arriving, and I'm going to pick him up.'
His mom replied, 'Are you the only one in this house? Send someone else to get him. You're not going out today. That's final.'
'Mom, I'm saying I'll go and come back quickly. You're wasting my time. I would've already been there by now.'
His mom replied, 'You're good at making excuses!'
Yuvraj smiled, placed a hand on his mother's shoulder, and asked, 'Okay mom, can I go now?'
'Only if you promise to return on time,' she said.
'Yes, mom,' Yuvraj said and spun his car key in his hand as he walked out.
Bajaj Industries
Yug was sitting in his cabin going through Mannat's file. His finger stopped at the engagement date.
Just then, Yug's phone rang. It was an unknown number. He picked up the call and coldly said, 'Speak.'
Whatever the person said on the other end, Yug simply replied, 'The plan is ready,' and kept looking at Mannat's photo in his hand.
Mannat's House
The whole house was beautifully decorated. Mannat and Pihu had been dressed up by the parlor artist. Mannat was wearing a stunning brown lehenga, looking just like a movie star. Her light makeup and curled hair made her look exceptionally beautiful.
Pihu also looked gorgeous. Guests had started arriving gradually. Many relatives were already present.
Mannat's friend Naina had taken a day off from work and had arrived early. She was wearing a light yellow lehenga. Approaching Mannat playfully, she teased, 'Wow, girl! You're looking killer today! Be careful—your wedding night might happen tonight itself!'
Meanwhile, Yuvraj was speeding toward the hotel where his friend from Dubai had arrived in the morning. It was already 4:00 PM.
At Yuvraj's home, everyone was dressed and ready to leave for Mannat's house.
The auspicious time for the engagement was 7:00 PM. Time was ticking, and everyone from Yuvraj's family was ready to leave. Yuvraj's mom said, 'Call Yuvraj, where is he? He hasn't come back yet.'
Yuvraj's younger brother, Mayank, called him. Yuvraj picked up, 'Yes, bro?'
'Brother, where are you? We're all ready to go. It's your engagement, and you're missing!'
Yuvraj replied, 'Don't worry, I'm on my way.'
Mayank insisted, 'How can I not worry? It's your engagement—not a shopping trip we can reschedule.'
As they were talking, their mother snatched the phone and asked sternly, 'Where are you right now? I want you in front of my eyes immediately!'
'Mom, I'm just about to leave. Why don't you all go to Mannat's house? I'll get ready and come.'
'No, you come home first. We'll all go together. Don't act smart, and I'm hanging up now,' she said and disconnected the call.
Agarwal House
Keshav Ji was anxiously waiting for the groom's family. He kept checking his watch repeatedly.
Mannat, too, was restless. After all, she was about to marry the man she loved. She kept asking Naina, 'Can you check outside if Yuvraj has arrived?'
Sharma House – 5:30 PM
Time was flying, but Yuvraj still hadn't returned. His mother kept glancing at the clock and pacing nervously in the living room.
Yuvraj's father, Vishwanath Ji, said, 'Kaushalya, we should leave now. Tell Yuvraj to come straight to Mannat's house. Mayank, you stay here and bring your brother along.'
'Okay, dad,' Mayank replied.
Everyone left for Agarwal House, seated in their respective cars. The vehicles sped off.
Mannat's House
Everyone was waiting at the entrance to welcome the groom's side, not wanting to give them any chance to complain.
Thirty minutes later, the Sharma family arrived, and the Agarwal family welcomed them with great fanfare.
After warm greetings, both families entered. Keshav Ji asked, 'I don't see Yuvraj. Where is he?'
Vishwanath Ji replied, 'Yuvraj and Mayank must be arriving together soon.'
Seema Ji stepped forward and said playfully, 'Are you going to keep our guests standing outside? Please come in.'
Everyone laughed at her remark and mingled happily.
Mannat's eyes kept searching for Yuvraj. Unable to bear it any longer, she asked Naina, 'Have you seen Yuvraj? He's still not here.'
Naina said, 'Don't worry, he and Mayank are coming together.'
This made Mannat uneasy. She quickly took out her phone and tried calling Yuvraj, but the call wouldn't connect. Feeling nervous, she said, 'Where is Yuvraj? Even his phone is unreachable! Why today of all days? Just wait till he shows up!'
Despite multiple attempts, the call didn't go through.
Naina nudged her playfully and teased, 'Already giving wife-level instructions? Impressive!' and grinned.
7:00 PM
The auspicious time had arrived, but there was still no sign of Yuvraj. His phone remained unreachable. The priest reminded them the time had come.
Everyone started calling him and reaching out to his friends, but there was no update. Where was Yuvraj?
8:00 PM
Still no sign of him. Mayank arrived at Agarwal House and told his mother, 'Mom, Bhai hasn't come yet. I'm seriously worried now. He's never been this careless.'
11:00 PM
Vishwanath Ji received a call from the police, asking him to come to the hospital immediately. His hands and legs began trembling. Seeing his state, everyone panicked.
Mannat, already filled with anxious thoughts, saw his condition and began fearing the worst.
Kaushalya Ji held his hand and asked, 'What happened? Who called?'
'It was the police. They've called us to the hospital,' he said.
Everyone was shocked. Kaushalya Ji began crying and asked, 'What are you saying? What's happened?'
'I have to go to the hospital right away,' he said.
Keshav Ji, Seema Ji, and others offered to go with him. Everyone rushed to the hospital.
Hearing this, Mannat felt the ground slip beneath her feet. She couldn't move or speak.
Naina and Pihu stood beside her. Naina asked hesitantly, 'Mannat, are you okay?'
Mannat, holding Naina's hand with trembling fingers, said while crying, 'Naina, please take me to the hospital right now.'
Naina and Pihu said together, 'We're coming with you.' All three quickly got into a rickshaw and left.
