The Empire didn't fall apart completely when the 2nd Death Star blew up and Father killed the Emperor. The Emperor's Grand Vizier managed to salvage a good portion of what was left of the Empire. Meanwhile, other Imperial leaders squabbled over the other fragments that were left. By decree of Mas Amedda (the Grand Vizier, but he is not called that anymore), The Hunger Games from the Old Republic have begun again and two Rebels must compete each year in the Games, along with nine other planets belonging to what's left of the Empire. After getting ready, I go out onto the veranda. Leia's airspeeder is parked by the edge. I wait for her to be ready and come out. She wouldn't like me piloting her airspeeder, even though I'm her brother. Like Father, I'm also a good pilot. She comes out wearing a full length light blue dress, not too elaborate, but still pretty. It looks good on her. She gets in the pilot's seat. I get in next to her. She turns on the engine and pulls the speeder away from the veranda into one of the skyways. She landed on a landing platform and there was another airspeeder waiting at the edge. We got out of her airspeeder and got in the other one. "Take us to the plaza outside the old Senate Rotunda." Leia tells the pilot. The pilot pulls the speeder away from the platform and takes us to the plaza. He lands and we get out. We sign in. I stand with the men while Leia stands with the women. Mas Amedda, and two of his high ranking officials come and sit down on the stage. Alsia Serat, the escort and chaperone for Coruscant and rebel Tributes, comes onto the stage. "Welcome! Welcome! Happy Hunger Games and may the odds be ever in your favor. Before we select our Tributes for Coruscant or the Rebels, we have a special film." says Alsia Serat. We watched a short film about the origin of the Games. "Now the time has come to select our male and female Tributes for the honor of representing Coruscant or the Rebels in the 4th Annual Hunger Games. As usual, ladies first." Alsia Serat says. She walks quickly over to the glass ball containing the women's names, takes the first slip she encounters, walks quickly back to the microphone, and unfolds the slip of paper. She reads the name in a clear voice. "Princess Leia Organa."
