It was lunch break and Catherine was working on the tyre of a particular car.
"It's lunch time,let's go to the cafeteria",Jack asked politely.
"Okay ,thanks",she said and followed them.
When she entered, everyone's gaze was fixed on her because no female engineer had ever been employed according to the history of the company. There was chatting and giggles but they told her to ignore them. They sat at their usual spot and made space for her. She really enjoyed their company even though it's only been half a day. They were super nice to her. She ate and laughed with them despite what people were saying.
Wilson was having a meeting with the board. Wilson sits at the head of the table while showing them his new project. After watching the outline and Wilson explaining to them,they had a few questions for him.
"So Mr.McCarthy ,you want us to make cars that can turn in airplanes that's okay,but we don't have an aeronautic engineer in this company ,how do we get them?",one of the board of directors asked.
"Well we can employ someone who is willing to do the job and take our time to interview the person",he answered.
"But this project is expensive so do you have any back up money for it ?",Another asked
"Well I have contacted some investors and hoping to get a feed back from them",he replied.
He answered a few questions and later on someone asked him a question that made him pissed off.
"How about you turn to your brother for help?",Mr Kim asked
"Why suggest that?You and I know I'm in a competition with him and you want me to turn to him for help. It's not like I'm in bankruptcy for crying out loud. The meeting is over thank you",he said and stormed off.
After work, Catherine was sent for by Wilson. She immediately changed and went there,she was allowed to enter. He was working on something so she silently sat down and patiently waited for him to finish.
"Catherine,I wanted to discuss your payment plan with you",he said and she came to his desk and sat on the chair in front of it.
"Oh okay, I'm all ears sir",she said calmly.
" Your fee per an hour is $200 and we pay weekly and the maximum you're supposed to work is 6 or 7 hours per day. It means work starts at 8:00 am and ends at 2:00pm or 3:00pm",he spelt out the payment plan.
She gave him her account number for which the money will be sent through it. She was excited about it and decided to give in her all.
For the past few days,Charlotte and Kelvin bonded well and instantly become friends after years of her following him around. It was time for physical education and they had a joint class with Class C.
"I'm going to get changed in the girls locker room,we'll meet on the field",she winked at him while picking her bag containing her Jersey and left the class. He watched her as her skirt swayed in the to and fro direction. He immediately took his eyes off her because his face was turning red.
"Hey let's go and change",Rolland came along with Frank and Travis. They all left the class and changed to go to the field.
When they got there Charlotte was warming up with some of their classmates.Kelvin was the captain of the soccer team in their school since most people weren't really interested in it. The coach came around and told they were playing soccer today. Charlotte played volleyball. When she spotted him,she ran and hugged him. He was motionless and speechless for a second at the same time.
"Hug me back because everyone's watching",she whispered loud enough for him to hear since he was taller than her. He slowly hugged her back and she held his hand pulling him to the corner of the field.
They jogged around for a while before all the others came to join them. Their coach announced that they were to play in batches and the girls were to play first against each other's class Class A and C. They were arranged on the field and the ball was positioned at the center of the field. The coin was tossed and Class A was to play first.
The boys cheered for them as they tried their best to play well. The first half was already gone and they came to take a break,
"Take,have some water",Kelvin offered Charlotte. "Thanks that's so sweet of you", Charlotte collected the bottle of water and drank it. They went back to the field since Charlotte had mastered a few skills she was okay playing this time and she was playing against June.
June was her ex best friend and they were now enemies. June was also really good at soccer and also had a crush on Kelvin. She joined the soccer club simply because of him.
"Let's get started Charlotte",June said furiously.
"Oh honey bring it on", Charlotte accepted.
They played for a while and the time was almost over with a score of :

"I'm not accepting defeat!",Charlotte yelled as she dribbled past June. With a smirk,June extended her leg and Charlotte tripped and fell hurting her knee so badly. The whistle was blown for a foal. Without thinking Kelvin rushed to the field and scooped her into his arms like a child and sent her to the infirmary.
"Ouch! It hurts",she cried in pain as he put her down on the bed.
"Sorry, I'll call the nurse for you",he called the nurse and she applied ointment and bandaged her leg. He sat beside her bed as she watched him,
"You can go and play with the boys,I'll be here and wait for you",she said
"Promise you'll wait for me to return",he said looking worried.
"I'll be fine...but why are you so worried about me?Do you finally like like me ?",she teased.
His cheeks turned red as he struggled to find the words in his head ,
"No way ...I like you um … just caring for a friend that's all",he stummered so badly and ran off. She only giggled and closed her eyes.
After he finished playing he went straight to the infirmary to check on her. Her friends had come around and they were talking,
"You're back",she smiled at him. "Yeah,let's go to class",he said.
"Mmm our captain is caring for his soon to be girlfriend",Clara teased.
"Yeah our finest football captain",Jane added and all three girls burst out into laughter.
After changing,they went back to class. And he helped her sit down like she was a pregnant woman. Their class monitor came in and told them their English teacher wasn't going to attend class because of an emergency.
"Then I guess this is the time for us to get to know each other better",she smiled.
"Well I guess it is",he agreed.
